Now.......the new legend of zelda. I am almost sure that there is no one reading this post that has not seen the trailer for the new legend. About it.....well, ever since the end of Ocarina of Time, I have hoped for a big sequel, a dynamic return of link. When Majora's Mask came out, I thought it was just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the plot was not very similar. When the Wind Waker came out, I found only half of what I was looking for. The plot shook me out of my shoes, but I realized that this was not the BIG sequel I was hoping for. Although it was one of the greatest games, it was not the one I was looking for. Finally, I saw this trailer. The first thing I thought was, "SWORDS ON HORSES!? SWEET!" I drifter farther and thought, "Could this finally be the BIG sequel?" Honestly, what does it look like.....majora's mask looked like one, but was it? I'm just curious for some feedback.

Anything's possible, to be honest; sometimes, it seems like the policy is "Make games now, figure how the hell they fit in later"

I'm curious what you mean by big sequel. Do you mean a game that has a story closely tied to OoT? A game with an atmosphere like OoT's? Something else?

I'm hoping this is a continuation of TWW... the TWW2 Nintendo promised us. Probably because I'm a continuity nut. I got mad when I found out about Four Sword + (FS Adventures? What are you talking about? ;) )

Bah! OoT's already had too many sequels already. We already have MM and as a direct sequel and the TWW that heavily refers to OoT. Then we the Oracle series the FS series that are riddled with OoT references. OoT was a good game but damn, let it go already. OoT was fine by it's own. Link saved the day and everything was completely tied up. MM was just a treat. TWW was a favor. Making a third sequel to the same game is well past kicking a dead horse; they'd be raping it now. It's time for something new.

i think if it was a direct sequal to TWW it would have that cel-shaded look to it, too....

either way, its gonna be a fun game ^^

The word sequel, applied to the Zelda series, is foolish. They're all one big series, all part of the same universe, and every last one of them can be played and enjoyed independantly of one another.

That's like calling FF2 a sequel to FF1, and FF3 a sequel to FF2, and FF4 qa sequel to FF3, etc., etc. It's just not done. It's clumsy, it's unnecessary, and it's really just pointless.

true, but there is some proof that the LoZ series has a chronological order, where there isnt enough evidence between FF games to say they're all the same world just different times

I think by sequel, they mean how AoL is a sequel of LoZ, LA is (arguably) a sequel of LttP, MM is a sequel of OoT, etc...

While I see where you're going with that, many peoples theories that I've looked into don't put a couple of those games necisserily in those ordered pairs. Do you mean that they were released sequentially one after another?

Yeah but OoT already has two of those. It doesn't need another one.

Though it could be argued that TWW isn't a direct sequel to OoT, it simply plays off of the story/history, of another game as any game in a series should do. ahg...that's so easily shot down, I'll have to keep thinking.

I appreciate all of this...but what I mean is a sequel to OoC. A big sequel. A return of Hyrule, of Princess Zelda. And the whole crew, like the sages. I enjoyed how TWW displayed places and races similar to OoC, but I want a sequel. Maybe like, a few years, not one hundred, after the whole OoC. if you understand what I am saying. If you have seen the trailer, do you think its a sequel, or not?

Another thing, Ocarina of Time actually has no real sequels. TWW can be argued as a sequel, but a true sequel, I dont think so.

True, Nintendo did. However, their plans were outwitted by their common sense. Wind Waker was good, but nothing will ever really be able to match up to Ocarina of Time.

I don't mind whether it's a sequel or not, just that it clears up the timeline confusion and is a thouroughly good and fun game.

BTW Mythius you can use the edit button, instead of making 3 posts.

LoZ was the first game in the series, not OoT.

Mega Man 7 isn't a sequel to Mega Man 6, it's a sequal to Mega Man.

I think we ALL shot him, especially after Link found out what prices Tingle was charging for deciphering maps.

What do you mean about the imprisoning war? And I just want Lord_Of_Shadow to know that I believe this may be it, but the Wind Waker may be the closest Ill get. Thanks anyway.

the imprisoning war (IW) that is spoken of in ALttP manual. Some people believe that OoT was the IW but I'm not convinced.

Don't hurt me, but I think FSA is the IW. When you think about it, it seems like Capcom meant it like that. The IW says "back when Ganon was a man named Ganondorf" which he was in FSA, although we never saw him like that. When Ganon is *SPOILER?* sucked into the Four Sword at the end, maybe he was being sent to the Dark World. *SPOILER* And maybe the seven wise men were the seven maidens (again, don't kill me) explaining why the descandants of the sages are all human (sorry, Hylian.) Oh, and the obvious similarites of FSA and LttP's maps.
