Just for your knowledge, seeing as you don't know what a Tanuki is and I do, here is a description. They are an animal similiar to raccoons (although they are more closely related to foxes). They're native to Asia. Statues of these Tanuki are often found outside shops in Japan, depicted carrying bottles of sake and, in what would seem like a crude display of typical Japanese humour, enormous testicles. These testicles (colloquially known as kintama - literally "golden balls") are believed to be a symbol of good luck.
Ironic, seeing as the raccoon/Tanuki in LA was anything but lucky for Link.
when i said 'they probably changed it to raccoon not knowing what a tanuki is' i meant -they- didnt know. obviously i did or i wouldnt know a raccoon looked similar.
