An amazing discovery that I cannot believe I missed earlier:

Posted Image

An eye appears on the back of Midna's helmet/crown/mask that looks like a cross between the Sheikah and Vaati eyes:

Posted Image

What could this possibly mean?

Posted Image

Some bigger connection?

*Disregard my drawing. I threw that together really quick and scratchy and I know it sucks. It also has no real significance*

Intriguing. Perhaps there's some connection between Midna and Zelda...
If you look at the title of the game, the picture behind the wolf looks a bit like the shape of Midna's Mask.

Wow. So many refrences to other games we know of and it's not even out yet. This had better explain some things.

I'd say it looks more like a Vatti symbol.

Yeah, I noticed the thing in the logo when they first showed it (when I thought Midna was just a head attatched to Link's back, which made me hate it instantly).

And I thought it looked most like Vaati's too, but it had the pupil inside it, so I thought of it as a mix.

Now all we need is Agahnim's eye to appear. We have an Eye of Truth, an eye like Vaati's and an eye like Majora's Mask's.

I find it interesting that the Majora-type eye and the Vaati/EoT thing are on the same mask/helmet/crown. Wiggy.

Maybe Midna is born out of Zelda's pain and despair...

Now why do you refer to that 2nd eye as Vaati's Eye. Where has there ever been a link between the two. That eye is in The Wind Waker, and is seen outside Ganondorf's woodern fort at Forsaken Fortress...

I said it looked like Vaati's closer than the Sheikah and Agahnim one.

Wait, eye from the wooden fort at Forsaken Fortress?

You have a screen? I can't recall this and isn't the wooden fort gone after the first half of the game, or can I still get there?

Martin ages ago made a very funky graphic file that compared the various "eyes" i.e. the Shiekah eye in OoT, Sheikah eye in TWW, Aghanims eye and the eye at the Forsaken Fortress... Do you still have that Martin?

Does this include the thing that random people were saying was Vaati in OoT (found in the Archery shop in Kakariko on the wall) and the Mysterious Man (in the purple robe)?

In TWW, after you beat the Helmaroc King you go up a ramp and come to the top of Forsaken Fortress, which is a wooden "house" for Ganondorf. The eye symbol is on the door. (that must be what he's talking about, but I don't remember the eye) that or the doors throughout FF

OoT Big Shock: Sheikh = Zelda
WW Big Shock: Tetra = Zelda
TTP Big Shock: Midna = Zelda?

Even if you look at the name, it has the same structure as Zelda. I think it's a strong possibility that Zelda and Midna are indeed the same person.

This should realy be in the TP section, but meh. I still think that Zelda is Midna, and i also still think they eye is a symbol for dark magic (be it pain or protection)

The eyepiece changes shape and acts like Navi around signposts... so what if the cloak is the eyepiece?

Nice connection. I also agree with the Midna-Zelda connection. It's reall suspiscious that they'd bring in this character with unparraelled amounts of magic without a plot twist

DOUBLE GANNON-BANNED!!!

Anyway:

@cheesedude: I know where he's talking about. I just wanted to know if you can get there when the game is complete or if I have to start a whole new game to get there again.

@HarryHatMan: I said the same thing in the Sheikah symbol thread.

@Zythe: wh-wh-what? OMFG?

DOUBLE GANNON-BANNED!!!

Other than adding a 'h' at the end of Sheik, why was I doubt Gannon-banned? And what's with putting WW and TTP in bold?

@Fyxe: It's a different eye thing. The other was about Majora's eye. As for why its here, I messed up. Is there a way to flag it for moving?

@mohammedali: The Gannon Ban specifically states that anyone who adds/removes articles from Zelda titles it GANNON BANNED. You wrote "WW" and "TTP". The games are called The Wind Waker (TWW) and "Twilight Princess" (TP, no "The"). As far as I am concerned, it fits into rule 9, because mis-abbreviating counts in my book.

Fair enough, though I think a lot of people call the Wind Waker WW for short. Still, I guess I deserve a GB for TTP. Gonna have to change my sig as well at some point when I have some free time.

But people call the Adventure of Link AoL, when it should really be abbreviated to tAoL. The point of abbreviating something is to make it, well, abbreviated - things like 'the' and 'of' don't have to be included, they just are by the Zelda fan community for the sake of consistency. 'WW' and 'LttP' are perfectly acceptable, it's just pedantic to say otehrwise.

On the flipside, TTP is wrong because the name of the game is just 'Twilight Princess' - adding an extra 't' to represent a non-existent 'the' in the title is wrong.

HOLY CRAP!

You're right...

wow... I never payed attention to that. it IS TAoL (first article is always capital, as with TLoZ). OMFG.

I feel stupid...

I can not write LttP and feel good about it. I always say and write ALttP. *mind explodes*

I don't like seeing MC for The Minish Cap though either. I hate it. Makes me angry.. YOu don'y like me when I'm... you know...

Well, I was actually pointing out that it was pedantic to say that 'WW' is incorrect, since everyone says AoL and LoZ without putting a 'T' in front of them, but anyway.. it's more an issue of consistency, I suppose, that everyone uses the same terms so that people are all on the same page - that's teh only reason I can think of for people to get their panties in a knot over whether or not someone else includes a 'T' in front of TWW or not.

To be honest, I think its more of a Sin to add "The" to the titles than to leave it off... :P
People saying "The Ocarina of Time" winds me up quite a lot, but I am perfectly happy to leave off the "T" for LoZ and AoL, similarly with the "A" of LttP... I would still write TWW though, same with TMC, Gannon Ban me if you must! :P

I get annoyed by the following:

- Zelda 64 (referring to OoT)
- Zelda 2 (referring to MM)
- The Ocarina of Time (TOoT)
- The Twilight Princess (TTP)
- Minish Cap (MC)
- Wind Waker (WW)
- Link to the Past
- LA being used as an abbreviation for "Link's Adventure" which in turn is supposed to be "The Adventure of Link". GRRR!!!!

But I am used to "LoZ" and "AoL" without the "T" in the front. Likewise, I don't tend to care about "LttP" being written that way as much as other things, but it's still weird to me. Meh...

I guess we should try to find more Midna=Zelda stuff or this is all we'll be talking about.

In abbreviation terms, MC and WW are fine. So to is LttP and AoL and LoZ, and if anyone wanted to write it as such, 4SA would be acceptable as well. It's weird seeing them written differently because you, like so many others on the boards, are used to seeing it written a certain way. As for Gannon-Banning, I believe it works off the hypocritical principle that AoL and LoZ are fine, but WW and MC are not - I'm not sure about that though.

As for Midna - someone on one of the other boards mentioned that Midna's helmet and general 'look' reminded them of the statues that you controlled in the Tower of the Gods in TWW. I haven't had a chance to check taht out myself, but has anyone else noticed such a similarity? From memory, they do sort of have that same 'horned' helmet look to them...

Don't they also have the same markings in the glowing blue-ish (bluish?) colo(u)r? Or am I hallucinating? I know I've seen that design before...

I believe they do. Weird that someone should mention the statues. I've noticed something familar about Midna's helmet but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Now that I think of it, I believe one of the statues did have horns like that.
