As the sun goes down on another day, so do the kids start annoying their parents to see if they can stay up a bit later, say, only ten minutes, and some are successful, while some fail and end up going to bed, if you call thinking of every possible excuse to get up going to bed.
As the sun goes down on another day, so do the night shift workers get up for another night. The cleaners, the late night radio DJs, the doctors, nurses, carers and food van operators. They head to work and see the side of the world that so many ignore, and miss out on. A lot of them wouldn’t trade it in for anything.
As the sun goes down on another day, so do the uni students start to line up at the bars, after sitting so many different exams and feeling like shit afterwards. They party to forget about everything and relish the moments that they do have. This lot have no intention of letting time get away from them.
As the sun goes down on another day, so do the parents start to relax after their kids finally do fall asleep. It’s been a long day for all concerned, and now they can take some time out and relax in each others company, or that of the TV, or Internet, or a good book. They just love being able to take a moment to relax.
As the sun goes down on another day, so does the worries of the day that went with it disappear for the night. To be dealt with on a later date, they take care of themselves, often inhabiting the minds of those who have to deal with them later, to torment and stress them, but alas, there are those that know where those problems can go.
As the sun goes down on another day, so does the moon rise up in the night sky. With it comes the wonder and mystery that only the night can bring.
