ok, after watching some brand new videos, I think what I saw moving around the top corners of the screen is a fairy (almost looking like Navi to be exact). I'll let you take a look at this and see what you think.

click on the top right one. I think that there's a fairy in all of them, but just see if you can.

Yes, you're right. It's been confirmed that this fairy is the visual representation of where you're pointing the Wii-mote at the screen. Whether it has any larger storyline implications is unknown, but unlikely, since the Gamecube version won't have it.
