((I wanted to talk about the RPG but did not know where to put it... is here okay DJ? I thought it the best place.))
With a couple of people now signed up, we should start up a story or two... but we need a core 'idea'.
Should not be anything 'too' big to start off with, as we just finished the Dorm wars.. but we should get some ideas going. I've had a couple of ideas, like something to do with The Book (PTB) or revenge on those dam woodies for what they did to us.
Ideas? Suggestions?

The Woodies will just mow you down again
But yes, we need ideas. I would be up for an attack, but I seem to be the only one with a character in position to defend the woods.

I wouldn't be so quick to launch another invasion just yet, after all, the two dorms lost the first war, you have morale and numbers that need much rebuilding before you can talk invasion, besides, an invasion will just add another unnecessary war and with a Second Dorm War from Selena being just a matter of time away, the same old conflict will just get tired. I'm also working on a new mechanic that would handle larger stuff like wars and such, sort of a second tier RPG (almost like a turn-based strategy game) whereas the RPGs are like ground floor, an in depth look of what's happening above.
Right now, I suggest you guys get out and explore the world, adding features and towns and basically populating it as its somewhat barren as it is. There's basically only one city per nation and that's the capital. The entire map spans about 8,000 miles so that's a fair amount of ground to cover.
You can always look through the World Guide (updated as of April 5th) for ideas, maybe taking an element you find in there and expanding it into something larger. Although adventures taking place in entirely new areas are encouraged as well.
I'd personally like to see something of a "short" RPG. Basically a story only slightly longer than your typical short story. I think that getting caught up in making every RPG an epic in itself can lead to many stories and rpgs to grow stale, stagnant, and eventually die from the lack of interest. A shorter RPG that can keep the story tight and fast enough to actually see its ending would be a nice way to start off the new forum. And now that I have the idea I might start something like "Week-Long RPGs" where I'll start a new RPG and basically challenge you guys to finish it in like a week or two. And each RPG I start will be located in different areas around the world so that we get nice, even coverage of the different regions.
With such a wide world, I find it difficult to pinpoint any one story I'd like to see, but for now I'll say that the general resistance to Khuffie's control in Sornaiid would make an interesting setting. It does have one of the world's largest military stengths and its capital is a city rich in trade. Maybe someone finds a mysterious artifact or some such for sale by one of the many merchants. I don't know, there's just so many options right now and not enough people have joined up to explore them all.
-PS, this is exactly the right place to put a subject like this. I think I mentioned a few times around the LA Chronicles, but yeah, you're encouraged to use the RPG Discussion forum for any discussion related to the LA Chronicles

Perhaps we could start a week or after the end of the war, each of us starting in our respective dorms (or for neutral players, er... somewhere). Which would give us a brief time to interact with each other, as well as develop what our 'home bases' will be like, before we move out into the big wide world where ladybugs might kill us if we aren't levelled up enough. For the Ikana and pirate folk, we could be in the process of rebuilding and regrouping. For the woodies.... I don't know, maybe you're sleeping off hangovers from your victory parties. XP
But yes, I'd be more than happy to include stories from the Chronicles in the next dorm war (which I do have in the planning stages!) to unite these two projects together, to an extent. So... yeah!
And I also really, really, want to raid villages soon. Yes.

The idea of another full scale attack would be crazy, and revenge can be sought in other places. I like the idea of leading on from the dorm wars directly, and though I did not fight in them (I was a late-commer) its still a nice common ground. It would be nice to meet up quickly rather than just tell our own separate stories, so I might pop over to the mainland, the border between the desert and Uradiel looks like a nice place to land my boat *grin*
Still just having random ideas, DJ, any official stance on what is happening in the Forsaken Fortress at the moment.
