O.K, In mostly all or every Zelda Game, You have to unlock the true power of the Master Sword. Well since one Hero from OoT or whatever has already unlocked it, why do you have to unlock the power again from WW. I mean it really doesn't matter on the hundreds and hundreds of years passing by but is it different Swords?

In TWW, we find out that sages empower the Master Sword (MS). TWW Link and the King of Red Lions discovered that the sages, Laruto and Fado, had perished so there were no sages at the time to power the MS. That is why Link had to help awaken Medli and Makar's dormant sage powers so that they may pray in their respective temples to empower the MS with evil repelling powers.

1. The MS has only been in three games (Not counting the Oracles and AST).

2. Neither OoT nor ALttP mentions anything about unlocking the power of the MS.

3. The MS had lost it's power in TWW becuse the Sages had been killed by Ganondorf.

4. There might be more than one MS, but there is no proof for that theory.

In ALttP The Master Sword was at its full power when Link found it. It had the same amount of strength as it did in OoT. Tempering the Master Sword made it stronger than it was in OoT and TWW.
