With proper English, you could simply say:

One Week Suspension
100 Posts docked

You're welcome.

Err... that is:

Two Days Suspension

It's because he's suspended. The color will come back after he's been unsuspended.

And it's always been the rule that you don't post in the awards polls! Ever since You-Know-Who and Anju did them and who knows how long before he did them. And it was the first post in the discussion thread that said don't do it. So I guess you're just SOL for a while.

I think it's kinda weird though a rule is not to post in the polls. That's just weird.

No offence to the creators of the rule....but it is wierd...i mean...theres no point in doing such thing..... especially when they ban a member for not knowing

Nobody's been banned. He's been suspended for two days for breaking a rule that was stated more than once. Two days is a pretty light suspension.

Well I think the rule is kinda weird too but really, who would want to post in a Award's poll to begin with. What could you possibly say other than what choices you picked? The Award Forums is just weird in general. I don't get what half those polls are about.

Question, DJ: Why not simply lock the threads to begin with to avoid any conflict? Or does this prohibit people from voting?

why not just let people post in the first place....thers no conflict in doing that....it's just a way of letting users tell how they feel about what the voted

That's what the discussion thread's for. If you posted in them, they'd get out of order, and look all messy.

Yeah, that's the problem. Locking the poll prohibits people from posting AND voting.

Then either reprogram the forums or suck it up and let them post.

Judging from teh titles, I don't think anyone will notice if they're out of order.

Yeah, well.

Anyway, Bond didn't get in trouble for just posting in an awards thread. Someone else did that and got a warning. Bond, however, posted AFTER all these warning and death threats, and so because he was unable to understand (or notice) all of this, he was teh suspended. Two days. Not that much.

As for whether the discussion thread is stupid? *shrug* It's always been that way. Stop tryin' to rock the boat. Never did anyone any serious harm before. The only difference was that with invision, we could make them poll only. LoD always had postable Award polls and they were pretty much chaos. Hard to monitor 15+ highly active threads and even harder to break up spamfests (well, spamfests for LoD) within each one. Especially since all the admins have jobs/school/lives and aren't on 24/7. And LA's way bigger than LoD and has more potential for screw ups.

Everybody stop gettin' yer panties (or armor) in a twist. It's not that big of an issue.

People getting suspended over an issue of aesthetics isn't an issue?

And if you want to talk about a messy forum, a Linguistics 101 student can tell you that two stops don't go next to each other without another sound in between.

It's not just over aesthetics. Like I said, it's hell to have that many postable polls with limited admins watching them, AND it was mainly because Bond didn't get the hint that someone else already got in trouble for it. Although perhaps the punishment may have been a tad too much for my liking. That I might agree on. But that by itself is not really an issue for this particular forum. *points down two forums*

these polls are pretty thin on representing anyone who isn't an admin or a moderator.

Listen. He's only suspended for two days, and for doing something that should have been obvious: if no one ELSE posts in ANY of the threads, despite many people having posted in them, and if there's a thread clearly labelled as being for all of your dorm discussion, there might be a reason for it. DJ doesn't want the polls to be out of order, he can't close them because that would keep you from being able to vote, and frankly..I guess we all assumed that common sense was in existance.

Well, regardless, all of it is just two days of suspension and a lock out from one forum. It isn't that big a deal of a punishment, and hopefully it'll tell other people not to do what you...just did. The punishment ain't gonna be retracted at this point, no matter how unfair you may find it. If you were banned for it, that would be a bit extreme, but you aren't. You can find some way of entertaining yourself for the next day and a half. And as Selena said...yeah, Suggestions forum for complaints and whatever.

...and what does that haveta do with the suspension, Catt? Bring that up in the Discussion thread or something. XP

Heh. Well to tell you the truth it's kind of good that I'm suspended for two days. I have plenty of things to do. I'm working on a new James Bond site. I have schoolwork. I have friends to hang out with. That's not even half of it. So I have been wasting a lot of my time here. This is good for me. Taking a privilege away from going on some forum opens up more time for me.
I wonder how much I can get done with this site in that time.
