Strengths & Abilities: Some skills with magic, which she channels through two books, her Bible and the Necronomicon. Her spells range from offensive to supportive spells. She is very knowledgable thanks to years devoted to study on various subjects. She is highly devout and from her faith is able to draw inspiration and strength to keep her going through the toughest times and trials.
Weaknesses: Belicia is physically weak. Her life has been devoted to study, not physical conditioning. Although she has a wide range of spells to draw from, the effort it takes to conjure these spells ranges from non-existant, but most, especially those most worth casting, require a nearly crippling amount of effort on Belicia's part, both physical and mental. Belicia is also very sensitive to auras surrounding her environments. A positive aura can uplift her spirits, even invigorate her slightly, but a strong, negative aura can physically drain her strength and put her mind in a state of anxiety, preventing her from focussing and casting her spells. Although she carries a sword for short range defense, its functionality is mostly for show. Not being skilled in combat arts, Belicia's skill with the sword is non-existent and neither does she have the strength to threaten most enemies if she wildly flails the weapon.
PART III
Belicia was born in Spain in the early nineties. Her family was devoutly Catholic and raised Belicia as such. As she grew up, Belicia spent much of her time studying scripture, taking their words to heart and becoming involved in church activities. Belicia's parents were killed during the turbulent times at the turn of the millenium. Orphaned, Belicia was taken in by the church.
Growing up in the service of the Church, Belicia's life was duty upon duty, but that is what she had known all her life. Belicia didn't object to the life, however. Instead, Belicia found the life fulfilling. She had always been devoted to God and living as a member of the clergy only helped her feel more connected. Within her order, Belicia had access to a vast library, going back nearly a millenia. Belicia spent much of her time transcribing ancient manuscripts by hand into newer volumes so that the originals could be preserved. What time she didn't spend transcribing she would spend reading over the library of volumes in the monastary's vast library.
Eventually, Belicia's curiosity lead her on a search for her ancestry. To her horror she was descended from witches, heretics cast from the church and shamed in the eyes of God for communing with the devil in exchange for supernatural powers. Unable to accept this at face value, Belicia explored further into apparent "holes" in the lives of at least two notable ancestors, Sypha Belnades and Carrie Fernandez.
Years of research followed and during that time, Belicia kept the information she had discovered from the rest of the clergy. Eventually, she discovered an ancient tome in the deepest recesses of the library, almost hidden away. The book was bound in black leather and contained passages in dozens of ancient languages, from Aramaic, Arabic, Greek, and many, many others. It was like a compiled history of mankind from its darkest ages to as recent as the early twentieth century. Deep inside its pages, she found mention of her ancestors, Sypha and Carrie. Though the two had conjured magical spells they did so in the name of god, to defeat a recurring evil. Its name Dracul. And according to the text, he was due to arise within the next few years.
Alarmed, she rushed the information to her superiors. They, however, did not understand its significance. Instead, they chastised Belicia for her interest in the occult, naming the Necronomicon she had discovered, as their sole evidence. Belicia could not let their ignorance pass, and despite the stern warning they had given her, petitioned the Church for help once more. The church did not take kindly to her demands and in turn ordered her to turn the black book over to them and all but accusing her of heresy. Belicia, however, knew what was at stake and refused. Angered, the church excomunicated her and exiled her.
The excommunication injured the girl deeply. Her entire life had been devoted to the Lord and by a signature on a piece of paper, her link to him had been severed. She refused to believe that any mortal man, be it priest or pope would have the power to sever one's link to God, but still, it is what she knew, and the pain still hurt. Wandering in exile for a year, she poured over the tome, which she had kept after her excommunication, studying its most secret passages. The book lead Belicia into the wilds of Transylvania where Dracula would arise. Once there, she sought out the gypsies to which Carrie Fernandez, her ancestor, belonged to. She spent several years among them, learning the secret arts that Sypha and Carrie had mastered for their battle against evil.
She learned to channel the essence of the two books that made her who she was, the Necronomicon and the Bible. Through her Bible, she learned to channel various spells that allowed her to heal and strengthen herself and others. From the Necronomicon she drew out powers of destruction that let her unleash her strengths against others. These powers came at a price, however. Any power she unleashed with her magic was drawn fer her body and soul, exhausting her after extensive use.
Her time with the gypsies and her study in the arcane arts also put her in tune with her surroundings, allowing her to feel the attitude of the environment around her. She could feel the serenity of a forest, the joy of a waterfall, as well as the sorrow in a barren wasteland. These emotions seeped into her and affected her. Positive emotions strengthened and encouraged her, negative emotions drained and weakened her.
After some time living among the gypsies, she left them and moved into the mountain wilds near the village of Wallachia. The book said Dracula would arise, and there she has lived for several years, waiting for the evil to rise, and the Belmont that would fight him.
