I've been meaning to post this ever since we found out about Midna, but anyone else immediately think of Medea the barbarian princess from Euripides play (in Greek mythology) when they heard the name?
If Midna is a 'dark' princess, then it does seem to fit with Medea the barbarian princess. Though I hope she isn't quite that hardcore. There are some other connections I could draw at this early hour in the morning (like between Link and Jason), but I'll leave it for now.
Any thoughts on the above?

I was thinking "Midna" as in "Midnight"...like really dark. Considering "Twilight" would be changing of the light and dark.

That's what I thought, too. Maybe there's a mix of the two...Midna, according to my brother, a history buff, is wearing a real Anglo-Saxon warrior's helmet. So...does that mean anything?

And Link ends up dying becasue a bit of the King of Red Lions falls on his head? Hmm... in Eurpide's play, at least, Jason wouldn't have got very far without Medea, and he's hardly heroic at all himself. I shouldn't think Link will turn out as weak and non heroic.
I didn't think of Medea when I heard Midna, no. Though I suppose there are already some links, if you look at Link as Jason - he's in the middle of a quest when he meets Medea/Midna, who then comes with him and helps him to succeed.

It could be a corollary, that's all I'm saying. Then they make it "Midna," which makes it a pun, and, well, you get it.

it's probablty because they both come from the same greek word or whatnot. However, they are both most likely refering to something dark and evil, in any case. So i think it's just some greek word or something that I'll have to look up now... To Google!! *runs*
