It's kind of a pintless poll... it's been done (recently), and you didn't get half the names right... MM Ruto? where'd that come from, the sprites are barely similar, it's like getting Darunia and Biggoron mixed up. (actually, the vertex difference would be about the same...)

mm 'ruto' is lulu, and she had a boyfriend already.. though it was the guy link was inhabiting, so good thinking! and just because they use similar art doesnt make FS/Tww zelda the same person.

Yeah, and Ganon created the Deku Scrubs at the time of FSA, so FS is BEFORE OoT, while TWW is after.
As for LA Malon, Marin clearly looks different than Malon. Also, because her wish was to turn into a seagull -- not just simply get away from Koholint Island -- she turned into a seagull at the end of LA, and Link couldn't marry a seagull.
As for Saria, well, I believe she's more like a sister to him (and there's only one Saria in the whole series). She even said (when she was a Sage) that it was destiny that they couldn't live in the same world.
Romani and Cremia lives in a completely different world (Link returns to his own world at the end of MM, y'know), and Cremia is many years older. Same goes for Lulu and Nabooru.
Malon only plays a minor role in OoT. Some people thinks that she's some important charecter because she reappears in so 'many' games. Well, so far it's only been OoT, OoS and FSA. In OoS and FSA she plays an even smaller role than in OoT. The only thing she does in OoT is to give Link an egg, teach him a song (she didn't give him Epona like some likes to believe) and give him a cow. In fact, you don't even need Epona to beat the game. You can use the Longshot to get into the Gerudo Desert. The egg is the only thing you need to get further, but in real life you could shook Talon awake.
I'd go for the Zeldas, each for their own Links. It would be a bit difficult with the original Zeldas, but maybe their religion allows the Hylians to have more than one wife, although I don't like to think of Link as that kind of guy.

and Malon's appeal lies not in her significance, but her insignificance. She's a real down-to-earth girl which we imagine suits Link just fine... and they share several common interests (horses, music, and archery... ok that's romani. still!)
it's like how we all wanted gilligan to hook up with maryann... didnt we?

Malon was based off of Marin, not the other way around. ALttP Link and Marin are the best couple, IMO--I'd like to think that there was maybe more to her than staying a simple gull.
I've always supported the Hero of Time hooking up with Zelda, though.

Well, this is weird. I wish you could select multiple options, cause for me, they're all different! But, instead, I selected the one most obvious to me in the game of itself. WW Tetra.
It's really pretty obvious. I think that OoT/MM Link found love in Malon, further realized it with Cremia, and married Malon much later, or he stayed a loner, but the Zelda theory there is very big among fans, so it's not as obvious or popular as TWW, so I didn't choose it. But, FYI, that's my favorite relationship, Link and Malon, even if it isn't the most definite.
Everything was cliche in the time of LoZ/AoL, so of course...Zelda. Dur.

But wait? Wasn't Sleeping Zelda the same as LoZ Zelda? OOOOhhhhh yeah, I forgot, she isn't. Weird.
ALttP? To me it wasn't real memorable in the way of love, but again, the princess in pink is the only option in the game...except various maidens, who didn't pose any attraction neither.
Marin is another fave of mine, but it can't be really b/c of two reasons. One: It was probably all a dream. Two: Inter-species relationships. Not good.
OoT Zelda was not at Link's stature, and it seemed the relationship was more of a really good friends sort of thing. That and he couldn't really marry her, he settled into obscurity after the return for Termina, that's the popular theory. Until the next game, mwahaha!
