Theories on Fatness

Okay, is Ganon just a big fellow in Wind Waker because of game design, or do you think it is for some other reason? Personally, I think it's because he's transformed into pig beast so many times that his metabolism just slowed down, so he kept the poundage from the pig beast.
Any other thoughts?
Maybe he used the Triforce of Power to make himself bigger, so he can feel better about himself. Everybody who wants to rule the world wants to be big.

So why the fatness. Well, who knows? Maybe he was just feeling his age a bit. The Master Sword had put a seal on him an his magic, somehow (despite his being at liberty, physically) by the time of TWW--maybe his magic is what was responsible for his longevity and he had begun to age and lose his buffness as he got older?
Of course this is where TWW's internal inconsistencies come in, eg Ganon cursing the Great Sea before the Master Sword has been drawn and "unsealed" his magic. Personally I suspect there was no reason for it, just as there was no reason for his theme seeming to change from Arab to Oriental and his growing a goatee.

Also, growing a goatee really isn't a big inconsitency, so I hope you weren't using that as an actual example of inconsistency, but just of there being 'no reason' - I mean, he changed his hair between the past and the present in OoT, so I don't see why he really needs any more of a reason than 'because he felt like it' for growing a goatee (well, because the designers felt like it, technically)

Well, it really is a big barrell chest though, unless he's wearing some kind of corset - the bulging area is above his stomach, in his chest area. His waist is pretty thick to, but it doesn't bulge out like a fat stomach.

Meh. He has the look of a fat dude to me. He isn't broad shouldered or anything. In fact, his chest and shoulders seem to slope. Might just be the art style though.
And yeah, the goatee was an example of Ganon just doing something and there not needing to be an exhaustive reason, not an example of inconsistency. The "Ganon curses the Great Sea before the Master Sword is drawn and he gets his magic back." thing was the inconsistency.

Ganon is very thick necked and his waist is thick set, but not really in a fat way - just in a way that looks like it could support his giant chest. He isn't broad shouldered, but judgng by the way there is a very organic flow of lines from his head down his arms into his long, flowing sleeves, I think it might be a product of the art style.

For the most part, it does just seem to be him having a giant torso and virtually no legs. (please nintendo, don't ever do that to Zelda again, it sucked so bad

I don't know why, but that is the first thing I've read in a while that actually made me "laugh out loud" XDOh yea and maybe Zelda used the triforce of wisdom to make her head so big like a basketball.

I think the creators might have wanted to show Ganon aged in WW. And seeing as how he had been trapped for hundreds of years, he probably didn't get much excersize so he just "let himself go". Plus he had a different personality in WW that fit better with a larger body imo. Another thing is that Ganon and the King of Hyrule were two very symbolic figures. They could be both very large people because they stand for very large things. And then of course there's the art style part.
