The Zelda Revolution

1) We were told that TP was completed around a month back, yet the game has been delayed for almost half a year. This could just mean that Nintendo decided on a few last minute additions, which is fine. However, another point should be noted...
2) Revolution, Nintendos new games console is set to be released around Spring 2006. Prectically in conjuction with the Zelda release. So it begs the question...
Will Nintendo release TP on the Gamecube like they said, or on the Revolution. Now I understand there are already a lot of crys for it to come out on GC, but here are some possibilities I read in a magazine:
1) Zelda will be released on the GC, and those that don't have a GC but want to play Zelda will be likely to pick up a Revolution as it's backwards compatable. This would allow for the 6 months to have a few new dungeons, and explains why a release around the time of the Revolution is being attempted. However, this wouldn't really boost Revolution figures up that much, and could cause a potentially great game like TP being overshadowed by a new console similar to how games towards the end of the SNES were not given a second thought with the release of the GC.
2) Zelda will be released on the GC with a bit of a graphics boost on the Revolution. This would include things like extra characters on screen, better resolution, faster play etc etc. It would mean that Nintendo fanboys would have a reason to buy the Revolution as well, and other gamers would not feel as unhappy about buying a new console to play a last-generation game. However, this would end up with TP having to store a lot of data that won't be used by the majority (i.e. GC players), and if it fails to generate excitement for outsiders, it will end up being a major waste of time and resources for Nintendo, and cost them the benefits of the original plan of a Christmas release - which they could have really cashed in on.
3) Zelda becomes a Revolution only release. This would explain new shots of Towns being released soon after the delay was explained, and would also explain how Nintendos suggestion of 50 characters onscreen at one time would be possible. It explains what Nintendo would be doing for the next 6 months - reworking texture maps, and improving graphics. As unpresidented as it sounds, given what Nintendo have shown us recently, it's looking a lot more likely. This idea would also suit Nintendo to no ends. Existing gamers would have to buy Revolution to get the game they've been waiting for forever, new gamers coming into the market would be swayed towards this amazing new release game and hence this amazing new console, even existing new-generation gamers would consider buying a Revolution because the launch game is better than anything their current console has to offer. It's a great idea for Nintendo, but at one cost... The happyness of existing customers. For many of us, there could be nothing worse than having to buy a new console for a game you bought the last console for. It's the cheekiest thing Nintendo could do, and the worst thing is that you would rather buy the game and enjoy it than bouycot Nintendo and miss the game of the decade. Having said that, the loyal Nintendo fans may not be faised all that much. People like myself who are planning to buy a Revolution anyway, would welcome the move after thinking about it. Sure at first it seems like a travisty, in principle at least if not anything else. But when considered properally, one realises that if it means better graphics and gameplay by moving it onto a console you already have, then why not? Still, I'd hate to be the gamer who desperately wants TP, but not the Revolution... Can't win 'em all.
Out of these 3 possibilities, it's clear that I believe #3 is the strategy Nintendo might be persuing. My heart actually tells me no - Nintendo couldn't be THAT ruthless, but my head says yes they can. Which ever it is, I just hope it's a better game than had it been released in November, and if it does end up on Revolution, I hope it's to make the game better and not to improve sales.

Twilight Princess was delayed because the game was nowhere near completion, in fact they knew it was going to probably going to be delayed after E3 2005. The screens released were supposed to show this.
...
Twilight Princess will launch months before Revolution, it will not be developed for utilizing Revolution's abilities, it is not a "Revolution" title.
And that is what Nintendo's representatives say as well. Therefore I believe that it will be on GC (But I wanted it to be a Revolution game).
