Hi I am currently playing Oracle of Ages and I'm trying to get all rings that are possible to get in an unlinked game only. One ring I have to get is the simple ring you get from just getting a fortune from the snake at the Ring Shop.

I have Oracle of Seasons but I simply just started it so I could go straight to the fortune for now.

But the problem is I get a link error if I try from both sides to get the fortune read from the snake. Has anyone had this problem? It's so frustrating. I swear I'm doing what the snake says, which is press start at the same time on both gameboys.

Maybe it's how I'm linking, do these games only connect with Gameboy color? I'm using the gameboy player for the gamecube and a Gameboy Advance SP, so maybe it knows I'm not using the right gameboy? I swear my link cable is fine it works on anything else. The only other problem I can think of is maybe in my Oracle of Seasons game I need to at least get my sword first before I get a ring fortune. Could that be the problem? I'll find out soon enough, but I was hoping you guys would help.

Is Oracle of Seasons game file a continuation of your Oracle of Ages file? If so then perhaps that is why your fortune will not work.

Although, I have not heard of a ring that you can only get through ring fortune. Can you tell me the name of this ring?

Well it's not a ring that I can only get from a fortune, but I think I might be able to possibly get one of the random rings I don't have. I am also playing just a regular unlinked game.
