I haven't posted fanart here, since over a year ago actually. O_o So I decided that it's time to post something up here, hehe. The funny thing is, it's a picture of Nabooru, yay! I already posted this picture in the Fanart section on Zelda Legends, but also wanted to post it here for all the forum goers to see. ^_^

I finally got around to creating a Nabooru fanart piece and I must say that I am extremely proud of how this one turned out. My goal was to make a much better Nabooru picture than the official art of her for OoT, and I think I achieved it. ^__^ The only thing that gripes me about this picture is the quality of it after I uploaded it to the browser. The .gif file was better than the .jpg and .bmp files, but barely.

Note: I drew her so that she does not look exactly like the official art, but in my own style. I thought the official art looked too unproportioned and awkward, and so made Nabooru look more human, lol.

Nabby, I dunno HOW you do it, but you do it every time. You're amazing, and that picture is...just great. The proportions are incredibly perfect, and the colouring is beautiful.

Wow, that is a really good picture, Nabooru. I'm an artist myself, and that picture does look much more human than in OOT's original art of her. Great Job! Also, I just want to know what paint format did you use (like Photoshop, etc.)

hehe, thank you loves, your words are greatly appreciated. ^_^ This piece took me forever because I was trying to perfect it, especially with the coloring/hair. :nnsweat:

lightgoddess18, I drew and colored her with PhotoImpact 7 since that's the only program I have access to. ^_^

The quality of the shading especially in regards to the skin is good. The picture almost appears cel-shaded.

It's not a perfect picture - it is very good, but there are 3 things that I'm seeing that I will critique:

1. The Jewel in her hair. Compared to where her jewel is on her forehead, it becomes Two Dimensional.

2. Her pelvic jewel. The jewel isn't following with her belly button.

3. Her left leg. It would be very hard to stand in that position for any period of time. It goes all the way to her foot.

4. #2 and #3 are because of her pelvis.

What you are doing well on:
Contraposto of the human form.
Shading
body is porportioned well

Suggestions for improving:
study anatomy (or strike a pose in the mirror for the pose you are looking for the picture.)
start with a line of symmetry

I really like the shading. It looks very nice.

(Remember not to revive old threads, you dont want admins smacking you for it.)

Yes, now that she mentions it, I didnt notice that the pelvic jewel was off a bit, then again it could be because shes turning or something, but oh well.

FYI - I'm female.

I did Life Drawing for a year when I studied animation. Then they went corporate.

.....Stupid corporate school.

Nice to meet someone who also likes InuYasha though. I thought I was the only one here.

I see what you mean Mecredi. Thank you for your comments and suggestions for improvement. I shall use you advice in future pieces of work. ^_^ hehe, I'm a Inuyasha fan as well.
