Really though, it doesn't make much sense, we know for a fact that Termina is in a parallel dimension, and that there is a very small chance of somebody from Termina coming to Hyrule, but Tingle is also in the FSA, which is a bit confusing. Of course we could say that because there is more or less an altered version of each person in Hyrule living in Termina that there are also two copies of Tingle, of course, that's taking a lot of liberties. Any better explanation? I'm confused...

The legend itself is a reference to MM. It talks about how Tingle aided the Hero of Time with his maps, which happened in MM.
Didn't Tingle also aid Link with his maps in OOT...? If so...whatever Tingle said...is it only referencing MM...? Is there a quote that I can see, in which he is talking exactly about MM.... If the quote doesn't mention anything about MM...then how are we to know that this Tingle, knows about MM and is maybe referring to OOT. I'm not saying that is doesn't, considering I haven't seened it...but just in case.

However, the Legend of the Fairy seems a little odd to me... It says that Tingle appeared before Link and saved him when all was lost. Yet, in reality you don't need Tingle at all in MM. You don't need his maps. And Tingle never offers to help you. Maybe Tingle has a parallel in Hyrule, who is the one mentioned in the Legend of the fairy?

I think you're mistaken - Tingle certainly isn't in OoT! Where are you thinking of?
Early in OOT close to Lon Lon Ranch...I believe close to there...there is a boulder that u have to blast with a goron bomb or something...somwhere in that area...a guy dressed in green is floating up and down on a balloon from behind a wall or something...u bust his balloon with your sling shot or arrow...the guy talks about his obsession with fairies...and he makes a goofy sound when he leaves...that sounds like Tingle.

And? The fact is Tingle is there to give you maps to help you along the way. It's optional, but that's merely a gameplay mechanic. We have to assume that Link did everything on his quest.

That's in Majora's Mask. And it's the Romani Ranch being led to, by Milk Road.

It could be the tingle from OoA that is being referred to since (I think) you need his help to get past a certain point in the game. He has an item you need or something like that.
He gives you the map to the Sea of Storms, if I remember correctly.

Except that would mean Oracles Link is also OoT/MM Link, which doesn't make sense any way you put it.

As far as I can see it's supposed to seem odd. It's supposed to be funny, I mean, we all know that Tingle wasn't needed in MM, but that's not the way that Tingle would have told it, it wouldn't be in his character to say it how it is. If he were to pass on a legend it would be that he was absolutely a deciding factor in anything that he ever did no matter what. That's the mark of a good story teller. So in that regard I agree with Khallos.

Take a GBA to Tower of the Gods and let Tingle go with you, you can decode the story in there.

Anyway, Hero, they should make a Zelda anthology that clears it up. That'd be the ultimate game manual.

Ah, Mario storyline is so much simpler: "The order they are released in, is THE order."
