If someone could link me to a decent skin-making tutorial, I would learn how and start making them myselfHow about rather than arguing over nothing, let's work toward some way to ensure Khuffie gets us skins before the dorm opening?
I've had no luck finding anything that can tell me how to do it though. I suggest that the entire dorm not be based off the zelda location - give it a bit of individuality. That way it makes it so that the Zelda fans AND the non-Zelda fans can be happy - while it's partly from the game, that's not it's whole identity.
Though the sprite map could be based on the one from LttP, that would be acceptable.
Yes, of course they wouldn't be based entirely off of areas from Zelda. Look at past dorms - Desert of Mystery, Chamber of Sages, and all the others that were named after Zelda locations deviated quite a bit from their namesakes. The Desert of Mystery, for instance, turned into a fullfledged sandy monarchy, and had an awesome sprite map which, though it used LttP sprites and maps, had no other similarities with the original Desert of Mystery.
The Zelda names are there to give the dorms a.. boost, at the beginning. Give people's brains a kick, get them thinking, give them some ideas... but once it's all going, there will be no doubt that they are seperate entities from the Zelda areas. Unless things have changed since I was a lowly member who posted in dorms - I must admit, I pretty much ignored the last round of dorms completely. I don't even remember their names.
