What do you guys think of the Anime .hack//SIGN and .hack//Legend of the Twilight?

Both are really good, and Rei Izumi is a sweet drawer. Go .hack!

I have never seen .hack//SIGN but I have seen .hack//Legend of the Twilight, and it is one of my favorite animes of all time! It really has the feeling of an MMORPG. And the characters are so cute!!!

I have..as of this moment seen 4 episodes..and it is pretty good. Really mysterious and such >.> keeps on making me think of LA and stuff XD just because..you can really see it is an online game. It gives you the familiar vibe of being online.

I've read the novels, watched SIGN, played the games, and watched both the anime and read the manga version of .hack//legend of the twilight. The anime version SUCKS. It's just a rehash of the past two plotlines in the series, except with two dimensional characters and unsolved plotholes. But the manga. Oh yes, the manga....Character development, an original plot, no incest romance O_o funny jokes "One hand's holding the controller but who knows what the other hand is holding!" Zefie "I like pink afros better!" "My GRUNTY!" O.O T.T Not to mention that Reki isn't a backstabbing whore this time around, and there's all these freakin' cameos! Kazu!!! Wiseman!!! Sanjuro!!! BT!!! Tsukasa, Subaru, a couple characters from AI Buster no one knows, Luke, Kite, Blackrose, and Orca, and Lycoris!!! Lycoris!!!!!

Is the manga really that much better than the anime? I was almost about to buy it, but then I didn't because I had watch the series and knew everything that would happen already. But now I may buy it after all...

So much better, and Mikepeterssucks, I totally agree with you! I've only seen about 5 episodes of the anime version though, so I should shut my mouth. But Mike, I declare you a true .hack fan! *LABEL*

I've seen /Sign, played the games, and read the Manga of Twillight. I think it was a pretty good series, but a little overblown if you ask me.

Well I have now seen all of the anime..and it is great. At first I thought it wasnt going to be THAT great..but the show really picked up. I am still not sure if I want to read the manga since I am pretty attached the cast of Hack//Sign so..I am optimistic if I want to meet a new cast. It reminds me of Digimon..I watched the first season loved..loved the cast. Second season I was with because it still had the original cast in it..but by the third I just was like..err...no. I am attempting to find the video games without spending a fortune. I attempted to buy some off Ebay but since I didnt want to spend over $50 I stopped the bidding at $30. I might bid a little more later on...even though I feel maybe I should read the manga before playing the games. Especially because I know the video game is about Kite..not Tsukasa and the gang. Even though..I know at least Tsukasa, Sora, and Subaru make an appearance?

Have you guys ever heard of .hack// Liminality, I was reading some stuff about the series on a couple of sites, and I ran across that name. All I know is that it is another OVA, I guess like how Dusk was. Does anyone know about this? I coulden't find that much info except for a few pics, and it looks really differen't then the others.


Edit: Nevermind, I just realized what that was, I forgot it came with the games. Anyways speaking of the games I just heard that there is a new one coming out on November 14th of this year, called .hack//G.U. From what I have seen of the couple of screen shots it looks really good.

at the end of .hack//sign, Sora gets trapped in the "World". Does anyone know what happens to him?

I watched most of SIGN, but I got bored of it pretty quickly. It reminded me of Witch Hunter Robin in that regard (in terms of story and characterization, not setting or atmosphere).

Sora doesn't get trapped in the World, she gets freed. And then meets Tsubaru (I think that's what her name was) in real life.

I dont know of any Tsubaru's XD but then again I have only seen the anime

It was really strange seeing all the characters as floating icons, but it had some very interesting information not told about in the series. And it had one picture at the end with all the main characters in it that I made into an awesome wallpaper.

Um...Sora is a he. The green PKer that everyone hates in the show? Yea, he gets trapped until the third game, then he gives Kite his weapons, then lurks around for a bit and is finally free from a coma in the 4th game. and yes you guys, the manga is THAT good. Toast, the manga has the same characters, but a totally different and totally better story. I mean...ZEFIE!!!!

Sort've. After the games, Kite and Blackrose are a legend for saving The World, and then some newbie twins named Shugo and Rena win their character avatars in a rigged contest made by Aura XP Her reason for bringing them back is different depending on the version of the story.

Yea, I heard of it. It has inaccurate information though, and audio dramas never have an impact on the series. They're not considered canon. More like fullblown, marketed fanfictions.

By the way, has anyone heard of .hack//GU coming out? It's a game that's longer than any of the first four combined, and the story is about some human players with the names of the Phases and an evil Kite look-a-like that's Data Draining people. Also, there's some new AI involved called the AIDA

Yeah..Sora was a Fourth Grader..and well..we dont know for sure if Sora is a boy or a girl XD they just show Sora sort of keel over. Then..the show focuses on his wall where you see the Fourth-Fifth Grade work or something. Tsukasa is the on only character that through the first 20 or so episodes she claims to be a boy..but towards the end she finds out..that she was being munipulated to THINK she was a boy..when in irl she was a girl XD

There's actually a crapload of meaning to that and the undies. See, since Tsukasa was like, abused up the wazoo by her father for not being a boy, she tried to act like one and dress like one (though he still beat her) and when her....um.....first period came in, she needed womanly nessesseties, but since her father wouldn't let her have a job or an allowance, she had to shoplift. Her father beat her afterwards not because she stole, but because she stole women products. So when she somehow (I don't know HOW she got access, perhaps she played at a friend's house while her dad wasn't home.) and she logged on as a boy. Now, it may be her friend's character, but that wouldn't explain why he's such a weak character, and he'd probably have people on his Member Address list that would want to hang out. Unless the friend is a newbie too, which I doubt, because he'd probably want to play and get familiarized first. So anyway, Tsukasa makes a girl character with someone else's computer, and Morganna decides that he's perfect for her wicked plan. Insert Data Drain here.

Wow..you got all of that from the little bit they shared in the series? *ish amazed* I guess that does explain a lot of why we would see Tsukasa's past and what appeared to be a boy! XD I didnt think that was underwear..I thought it was a bra XD

How Morganna was trying to constantly bring Tsukasa pain so that his anger would influence the growth of Aura (or keep her asleep), or...? Hehe, and THAT is a fun thing to really think of pondering in-depth.
