Okay, I go to a technical college and I should be able to do this on my own but I'm lazy and I don't have Macromedia anymore. Also, open lab sucks. So could someone help me a banner for my message board. It's a Mario/Zelda Role Playing message board and need something that really captures the essense of both worlds and uses [img]http://forums.legendsalliance.com/public/ALOT.png[/img] of blues to match my ava. Don't bother with adding text or borders. I'll do that myself.

Do you want something with like gradients and then filters or an actual image with pictures on it and blended and stuff?

Hmmm... yeah. If you use stuff from games, like make sure the art styles are simmilar enough and look like they "go together" ... if that makes any sense. Like, for example, TWW and PM's artwork kinda go match because they're basically solid, bright colors with thick black outlines.

As for filters, probably a somber blue, so the pictures don't take attention away from the text I'll later put in myself.

Would a blue gradient, with radial blur as a background work? Then I could put TWW Link on the left and PM Mario on the right, and then go a thick glow on each of them and do some sort of shimmery effect afterwards? If you have any pictures in mind for it... direct me there.

Gamehiker used to have some really good pics but after that bs crap with their servers Masa still hasn't moved everything back up so I don't know how much is there now. Though, I'm sure if you ask him nicely, he'd give you some pics via AIM off his computer.

A radial effect would be okay I guess. I don't want anything too staticy though when arranging the pics. I like a little randomness thrown in. Go wild! But not too much. XP

Oh yeah! And 100X300px. I like 'em long.

EDIT: 100x300 is really tall. 300x100 isn't very long at all. I'll do you a 500x100.

No the real bright dissolve there was good, it was just Mario's face was white.

Man, you need to get off your own back. They don't 'suck'. I was just pointing out that the really bright bit in the first one was good, it's just that Mario had no colour in his face. Combine those two that you've got there and you'll see what I was picturing.

It's okay. It needs more stuff though.... But not too much that it seems busy. Like but Peach and Zelda but smaller than their male counterparts. Maybe small enough so you see the full lenth of their bodies. And then make every "softer" so it doesn't distract from the text I'm gonnna add later.

Here's something I cooked up in a few minutes.. Tell me what you think.. It's not the best for text, but if the text has a glow around it or is in a contrasting color it'll be alright.

Everything. It seems too busy.... I dunno. It's kind ahard to describe what I'm looking for here. The sig is supposed to advertise my message board which a role-playing mb called Mushroom Earth. I need a sig thta conveys an epic world that Hyrule and the Mk could realistcly coexist on.

Do a little sketch in paint. So we know whereabouts where to put stuff. I really like OC's one. *saves*

Now that I really think about it. Scratch every I said besides the sig size.

That's a great angle shot... but I dunno if you can filter that to make it all sunsetty.

If you can't find a good Hyrule castle then forget about it.

I added a few more pictures but any others wouldn't be official art and using them would be plageurism.

Would you like some sort of city (medieval?) backdrop and then maybe a blue wash over some images and stuff?

MDTA can make a Hyrule Castle beautifully, I'm sure.

If you have MDTA's permisson go ahead. I'm looking for more "cartoony" stuff though but I bet he could do that too.

As for the city, I'm looking for something like New York or something. It's supposed to be Mushroom City (MK:DD).

Y'know, I can take a screenshot of OoT Hyrule Castle at sunset if you want... or i can to draw up a sig a lot like the one you drew in ms paint, but a bit fancier, in oekaki.

Okay! Winner gets a premade account at my MB with modship of a sob-forum in the role playing communities named after anything they want.... as long as it relates to RPing. And once the RP hacks are done, you'll get 10,000 gold coins which you can use in member shops and stuff. That's if you guy want it. I'm sorry but that's the best prize I could come up with... *shrugs*

OT suggestion? Don't use RP hacks. They're terrible. Just have a complex post-based system which is more respectable.

I'm not nearly as good on PS as OC, so congrats OC.
