To make a long story short...he was Link/Serra/Marth/Master Shake/whatever.

Looked up his website, clicked his forums from there, looked up his name and saw his email address was the same as our many-banned-friend.

You know DJ, if this post is unnecessary feel free to sue me, but...

Is that the same Marth? Or a different one? Or was it LoH Link?

But yeah, same guy/gal/neuter/who knows.

This guy was (under the current world of LA, since the hack):
2-D, AyoungAce, Chai Xianghua, Eliwood, Kalas, Kazuya Mishima, Marth, Retsu, Roy, Serra....that should be about all. If there's more...oi, I'm not gonna look around to try remembering.

Wow, I remember so many of those names as different people (probably cos I don't really pay that much attention). He's pulled it off that many times, huh? Damn...

So I'm guessing that thing about Roy dying wasn't real if it was actually him, huh?

He also made up his own little family. Roy and Marth were brothers, and Serra was their little sister. I think.

It was Eliwood dying, but yes, that was staged. Oh, and don't forget Samus. There was that account too, right after the hack. And probably seventeen others.

Now if he'd just realize there are other forums in the world.

Honestly, he cheated for LoD and shed a bad light on that dorm in that last competition, which is why the first thing I did as Admin was ban his ass. At this point, I would love nothing more then to beat him and his entire softball team of personalities with my bare hands.

Anyway, cut it out guys, unless ya'll have questions. ;)

I have a question. And I'm pretty sure it's a valid one.

Is there not a way to ban his IP address? You know, to prevent this from continually happening?

Not if he has a static IP. They keep changing.

Yup, that's true. If he had the same IP each time around, then he'd have been gone and never seen again. Unfortunately... he's got a static IP that changes every time, so we aren't that lucky, I'm afraid. ;)

Report him for what? There's no law against being an asshole.

Yeah. A "static IP" is one that never changes, a dynamic IP is one that changes.

And Alakhriveion, since he keeps coming back against the wishes of the owners of this place, and continually causes trouble, we do have grounds to report him to his IP. The law is not really involved - once the report was sent, it'd be between the ISP and this guy.

At another forum I go to, we actually got a guy's college funding cut when we reported and his college found out. He was basically doing the same sort of stuff, too.

Anyways, to answer your question, Jaina, I kinda stopped. I don't really know how to go about contacting ISPs, nor is he causing enough trouble for me to want to go to the effort of learning.

Now, if I remember my days as an admin on some other forums... isn't it possible to Wildcard ban him or put some asterixes (*) in the last few digits of his IP which should ban him (and about 30 other people) if those are the dynamic digits. The first bit of his IP should be static...

Exposing someone as an asshole to his financers is one thing, but seriously, look at all the crap on the Internet. Nobody's getting in trouble for harrasing a message board- least of all this guy.

If I remember rightly he lives in Georgia, we have quite of quality members from there, which is a reason the IP range isn't banned...As far as I remember.

You'd think that. But this time around I looked through every IP addy that he's had in the past, and looked at the IPs of this guy- absolutely nothing matched up. The only way we could figure it out was by intuition (he was acting just like Link), and then searching through his site and forums and then finding that around there he had the same email address as our previous offender.

He's a tricky twirp.

And yeah- we have so many people with the basic beginning of his previous IP ranges that...it'd be dangerous to do a full ban. It could take out a good portion of the Southeast US, for all I know.

Except that I have seen people lose their internet service and college finances, and thereforce, possibly, their success in life, due to just such a report on a forum that is hardly any larger then this one. Don't underestimate what a report to the ISP can do to people.

No Zythe... just... no. He's been here and been here. The fact is simply that no one wants him around. Period. Even if he apologizes repeatedly the things he's done around here are unforgivable.

Problem being...that he might as well be a pathological liar. He doesn't just make one personality and get banned, then come back as another personality- there were two times (that we know of) where he made SEVERAL personalities at once, had them communicating with each other back and forth, created entire histories for them- and made some people on LA feel that they didn't even want to stay around here if there were such manipulative people trying to gain their favour. He pretended to have a band touring around the US, pretended that one of his personalities had been killed while another had been arrested....

It's just too out of hand to give him another chance.

WTF This really weird I couldnt believe this when I was reading it. So all those members with so many posts were all faksters. Its saddens me that someone would fake someone who was fake in the first places death. It all seemed so real at the time everyone was so sympathetic and so forth. I feel genuinley sorry for the guy who did this because he must have a serious problem or somthing either that or he has really nothing else to do. How long have you known this was going on? And can you give me a link to his website.

Is it okay to tell you guys if we believe that someone's someone else? I was pretty much 100% sure that this guy was Link, but I didn't want to tell you because I thought it'd be seen as a bit of an over-reaction. It was just because of the way he was acting in the singles club, which was pretty similar to the other people he impersonated in there, and just his general being-ness.

Yeah, go ahead and tell us. I figured it was him the second day he was here, but held off saying anything for a whole... 24 hours. XP

But, Zythe, he's had his chances. And he's pissed them all away before. He's in his late teens so just saying he's a 'immature kid' isn't much of an excuse when he's at an age where he should know how to act and grow up and move on. Besides, the mere fact that he cheated in a dorm competition is bad enough. If it were anyone else, I'd say what the hell. But with him? Naw. Gone. He could've easily stayed and kept quiet and nice like a good member, but the guy usually comes off as arrogant with no backing and it's obvious to point him out if you know his behavior.

Yes Selena is right.

I really thought it might be him after a while in the singles club, but I thought I would let the mods find out if it were really him instead of jumping to conclusions.
