i was about to say 'you can't, that's what second-gamesave is for' but i remember i got every figurine in a first playthrough once... so it must be start the battle, get a good pic, save and quit.. then it doesn't restart you in the middle of the boss battle.
or POSSIBLY save and quit after you beat him, and it doesnt restart you in the middle of the boss room.. can't remember which.. either way it's no fun.

Save, enter the fight, take the picture, save, reset, select file. You'll start in the Phantom Ganon room with the picture still in your Picto Box.

yeah that's right, that damn main phantom ganon room. grr
the hardest picto time, i think, is when you have the opportunity to get sieg roc and tetra on the camera at the same time, but you have no opportunity to drop off the pics.. so you have to beat the forbidden fortress, go down to the temple of the gods.. do all that shizzle.. FINALLY be able to come to the surface.. get your pics checked out.. if you didn't take good enough ones, you gotta restart. x.x

Nah. The worst one is that worthless Rito NPC, Kogoli, who vanishes when you take Medli to the Earth Temple, and is never heard from again, despite the game failing to warn you, and him never actually doing anything of note. What a bastard.

Oh yeah!!!! and the rito all look alike so it's hard to know which ones you've gotten and which you havent.
