Hello!

i make masks and i've been making a few zelda based masks. the first one i made is the keaton mask. it's not quite finished and i'm not sure if the nose is right and i'm not sure whether to outline the eyes in black.

i based the mask on this picture:

here is it layed down:

i haven't put elastic on it yet but here i am wearing it!

i'm also making a version of marjora's mask at moment!

i'm hoping to sell my masks at festivals and wanted your opinions on my work!

thanks in advance!

so cool! i think you got the proportions subtly off.. e.g. ears are too long, eyes are too small, nose is a little big, whole face is a bit narrow.. but otherwise that's perfect! so cool that you made a real keaton mask!!! wow, you're getting pretty ambitious with majora, i salute thee!

I think those are fabulous! How long did it take to mold/paint them? And did you go for using any specific type of paint?

Thanks for all the comments! it was all done with papier mache and wasn't painted, instead it was coloured with yellow tissue paper. I've found this give a much more even colour to my masks, rather than streaky paint!

I've since altered the mask, making the eyes darker, and yes you can see through the eye holes, it's perfectly wearable! There's also an adjustable strap so you can wear it or hang it on the wall!

It's also up on ebay now!

Oooh and forgot to say it's pretty much rain proof as it's now varnished!

Maybe you should try turning the snout up a little...it would make the mask look more round and more keatonish

well i realise the shape isn't quite right for th keaton mask, but it was a first attempt and it has to be said that the game illustrations and in game version of the mask are completely different! confusing or what?

anyway, here's my marjora's mask. not painted but it's coming along nicely. i'm also not sure whether to bother with eyes holes or just have it as a hanging decoration...what do you folks think?

Hanging decoration. Eye holes would ruin that work of art.

I've got to agree with Zythe. The mask of Majora should be a work of art, not a halloween costume. So definitely no eyeholes.

Or you could make a second 'wearable' version or something as such.

I don't think the game's mask had any holes anyway, cause it just possessed you.

Hey everybody, decided to make a little visit. ;) That is a really cool mask you made there. It appears to look practically equivalent to the keaton mask in the game. The golden coloring is done right, as well as the shape of the mask itself. Great work! Your majora mask is coming out rather nicely as I can see. ^_^

My, my- this new mask is even better than the first (and the first one was fantastic)!

You have such amazing skill with your hands, especially in determining dimensions, shape, size, and all that from just pictures and the 3D in the game.

Sorry your mask didn't sell. I'm sure the Majora one will, though.
