I am stuck. I dont know where to go. I have 7 or 8 triforce pieces, and I cant find where to go.
I have been about everywhere, and its driving me insane. Help!

Side note: Is there a.. kind of overworld map?
Or does the square in the corner just stay black?

It depends on how many pieces you have. Really it depends on which dungeons you've already been to. It sounds like you're ready for level 8 or 9. I'll mention some of the hard to find dungeon locations in case you missed one. I'll assume you're playing the first quest.

-Spoilers, highlight below with your mouse to read-

Level 5, I suppose you could have missed it, is in the "lost hills". It's the area just a little east of the waterfalls where you can get the magical sword (white sword?). When you're in the "lost hills, just keep walking north 5 times, you should hear the secret sound and the dungeon will be in front of you.
Level 7 is in the fairy pond that has no fairy. It's near the lost woods. Go there and blow your whistle.
Level 8 is under a single bush that blocks a path near the entrance to level 2. It's east from where you start, and not too far north from the ocean. Burn the bush with a candle, if you didn't know.
Level 9 is hidden in the right boulder (I'm pretty sure it's the right one) in a set of two in north most moutain area. It's called Spectacle Rock, maybe you know that. You'll know you're getting close to it when you start seeings lot's of lionels and peahats together. Use a bomb on the boulder until you find the spot.

-end spoilers-

I'm not sure what you mean about a black square, but there's no overworld map item. It's up to you to explore it all and hope you don't miss any secrets. There are no "squares" in the overworld that you can't explore.

Hope that gets you where you're going.

I'm pretty sure if you open up a www.gamefaqs.com FAQ there'll be an answer, somewhere. Just pan along to just before the dungeon you haven't done, and take directions from "The Orogin" forward to wherever it is you have to go. Yeah. That game is so hard.
