Ok, first off, I dunno what it is that's wrong with me... hand-eye coordination or something, maybe? Anyways...

In the Wind Waker, on Dragon Roost Island, I sucked at the Letter Sorting Game. I counted, and it took me over 50 tries to finally get 25 letters sorted in the time limit. 50 TIMES. Then I found out I had to do it again for the heart piece. I did, this time it took 5 tries. But the thing is... THE TARGETS WEREN'T MOVING---

I now move to my problem in the OOT (I'm playing the MQ on GC). I HATE the shooting gallery. I SUCK. The best I've ever gotten is missing 2 of the red rupees. My usual is missing all of the red rupees and sometimes a green one. I just can't do it...

Is there an easy way to do it? There must be some sort of trick... or am I doomed?

I don't believe there is any trick to doing it. It is all about timing and aim. Those mini games take practice. Keep trying and you should get it.

(starts crying and beating the ground) i try! i try! i just suck at aiming... i cant even do that thing where you light a torch and then light another one by shooting thru the original... because of that, i had to do the Fire Temple MQ after the Water Temple MQand fire arrows... so as i said, i suck! there has to be some easy way... :(

Well, I'm sorry I don't know of any tricks. And the arrow puzzle in the Fire Temple of MQ is tricky. I don't remember how many times I had to go in search of more arrows before I did it.

If it makes you feel any better, the GCN controller is very touchy and aiming takes a lot of practice if you're used to the N64 controller. I'm a sorry aim, too. I had to hold the N64 controller on the ends (as if using the D-pad) and my precision improved dramatically. The only trick to mastering the shooting gallery game is to learn the position for each type of rupee, and be prepared. Other than that, there's no easy way to do it.

When all else fails, get a friend and make him/her beat the puzzle for you :)

im an excellent shot with the OoT bow, depending on distance, the arrow with usually hit about 3/4ths of an inch above the blue spot on your bow, keep that in mind when you shoot, and aim slightly ahead of the target, good luck

yeah n64 controller is easier.
i always aim above link's thumb for the bow, but then in windwaker it's all backwards.. fortunately you rarely have to use the bow there.

The best way that I can think of is to stay in one easy target place and wait 'till your aim is just right. You should get it in a few tries! (Don't feel too bad about yourself if you still can't do it right.}

:tri: :D :tri:

The bow of Oot isn't that hard to aim with, you just use the blue band for support.

i remember a favorite pastime of mine for like over a year after i'd beaten it.. recreational guay-hunting atop the lake hylia laboratory :D. ^_^ i'd see just how far away i could hit one.. then i'd hit them with different arrows.. and then i'd shoot the giants that appear randomly.. then climb down and refill magic and arrows and start over! :D

I do that with the Kangarocs in Wind Waker.

There's something very satisfying about making a long shot and hearing the WHAM! noise that plays when you kill something...waaaay out in the distance.

I'm weird, I know.

On a totally random side note...has anyone ever tried going through a dungeon/area and defeating enemies using only one weapon (where applicable, of course)? I tried the Forsaken Fortress with bombs, and found an interesting Easter Egg (If you can call it that, it's more like just an interesting thing). The first time you use a bomb against a Moblin, he'll ignore it and it'll hurt him when it explodes. But you take ANOTHER bomb out afterwards, he'll RUN AWAY from you. Hilarious.

Heh, one of my favorite hand-eye coordination stunts in OoT was the Lake Hylia glitch thingy. You put a Tektite on the water upside down. Use the megaton hammer on the ground and they flip, then hook shot them until they're on the water. If it doesn't work the first or second time, keep trying; it takes practice. Anywho, let them come back to life on the water and when they try to flip over, they go FLYING in the air and never come back town. The fun part is waiting until night and doing it, then use Fire or Light Arrows on them and watch them explode. It's like fireworks and it's great target practice and fun as hell.
