Me and a friend are trying to make our own Zelda game. We just don't know of a good program... anybody got any suggestions?

The hell was his problem? Anyway. Your best bet is Zelda Classic - http://www.zeldaclassic.com/
You can make anything mimicing the first Zelda with the basic ones, I think the latest ones let you make something more like ALttP now, with people outside of houses and such.
If your looking more for an RPG sort of thing, with turn based battles and all that, go for RPG Maker XP - http://archives.rpgi...rs/rpg_maker_xp
Good luck with your game! It's harder than it looks. Me and my mate tried once, didn't get further than the first town for weeks, and eventually gave up. :P

Turn based do not belong in Zelda games, and hopefully we will never see them in a Zelda game.

What is that kingmahayhem's problem? Why do people like him join a forum post rubbish in serious threads and flame in others? Ridiculous.

Well I wouldn't mind trying a turn based Zelda game made by a fan (it'd be intresting to say the least) but I really don't think Nintendo should ever even think about releasing one.

Well www.clickteam.com has a nice program called The Games Factory or Multimedia Fusion, I myself have seen some very nice fangames made with this program. Hope that helps.

i agree. it depends what kind of game you want, and those are the best. You have to learn zelda classic while rpgmaker is pretty straightforward, but once you learn zc it will be much easier to make zc games than rpgmaker games.
