In the swamp, at the Old Hag's Hut, there is a ladder running from on top of the building to the very top of the pot-shaped roof, as if to suggest that Link is to jump into it after climbing the ladder. My only problem is, how do I get up to the ladder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never known the makers of a Zelda game to put something THAT glaringly obvious in a game for no reason. Call me whatever you will, but I think there's GOT to be a way to get up to that ladder. Anyone else have any ideas?

I agree with Maharet, I don't think there's anyway in there. I've played MM through 3 times, and tried to get in there myself too, but I've yet to find a way. Where would you go anyway? You'd still fall into the hag's shop.

But WHERE in the Hag's shop would you land? Or is there another place between the roof and there that you can go? I'm just amazed that the developers could have left such a major blooper in the game like that. How do you miss something that big? I don't think you do; which makes me think that it's there for a reason. Now, just to get up there... Wonder if I could fly up there somehow....?

They didn't miss it. It's not a blooper. It was intentional. It's called detail.

I can't remember exactly what it looked like, but it always made sense to me. the witches had a ladder on top of their house for climbing on.
MM had lots of glitches, I think if it were possible they'd have found it by now. Besides that, the ladder wasn't coded like a ladder (you can't hookshot to it)

But it still begs the question; WHY put it there if there's no way to get to it?

I just hate that. Now I KNOW that MM is a subpar game in comparison to OoT. OoT didn't have nearly as many NOTICEABLE glitches, and it flowed better I think.

Well Majora's Mask was made quicker than OoT was, that's why it has more glitches and doesn't seem to flow very well in some spots. It's a great game though, but I don't think it's one of the better Zelda games.

Anyways as previously stated, it's just detail. There's lots of stuff like this all over in the 3D games. I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I know in OoT and TWW there were so many places where I thought I could go and couldn't. You just have to face the fact that there's no way into the top of the pot..it's just detail. Stop putting so much effort into it!

It just bugs me. I haven't tried all that much, but I just can't get it out of my head that there HAS to be a way up to it.

Wow, there is a ladder up there, I thought it was just a screw-up on the emulator

Ya there is. I dunno what it's doing there, or who put it there, but if it's not got a place in the game, then I'm thinkin someone from Capcom came in and fiddled with it a bit when no one was looking.... hehehe.

The ladder isn't a glitch or a mistake. It's supposed to be there. You know, there's a door in Ocarina of Time that you can never open; it's the one that leads onto the castle grounds. Would you call that an oversight, too?

Well, looking at the ladder, it doesn't even look like it belongs there. So the only thought I have left is to try and figure out how to get to it. As everyone here has said that there is no purpose for it, I'm guessing that there isn't, but it just continues to bother me.

isn't there a moonjump code with the gameshark like with OoT? couldn't you get there with that...just to see where it goes.

Never even heard of the Moonjump code, although it might be something to try in the event that I can't get there any other way. I'm thinking that it's either a glitch now or a planned part of the game that never made it through development. I dunno which though. Merits some looking I guess...

First of all, this thread is OLD. But... I do have news. I moonjumped up to the ladder on top of the hut. It wasn't solid, Link just walked right through it. I flew to the top of the vase thing. It was just solid black, with no shadows or details, suggesting that it wasn't really meant to be seen from above. Link also fell straight through that and landed in the vase, but without the inside loaded. I walked toward the door and then it took me to the inside of the hut.

So, the lack of collision or entrance data on the top of the hut indicates that Link wasn't intended to ever go up there, at least not in the released version of the game. I did notice something funny in the hag's shop though: If you moonjump behind the counter you can see that Kotake is so short she has to stand on an orange crate to reach it! XD

Osiris, why bring up a topic that's A YEAR AND A HALF OLD, not to mention your post wasn't exactly full of merit? Toast at least brought about some kind of conclusion.

In other news, a young Zoran musician was euthanised today by a strange boy with an ocarina. Authorites are on the look out for an 8 to 10 year old, wearing green and sporting a fairy.
The public should also be aware that the Moon is not in any danger of falling to the ground. However, if you should see four giant heads with arms and legs, please direct them to Mayor Dotour's office for briefing.
