Okay, I just finished beating The Minish Cap and it just sort of inspired me to think about the storyline again. So here is my attempt. It is a bit split timeline, so a lot of people won't like that... and I know I jump to quite a few assumptions and I'm sure there are horrible inconsistancies with it, but it makes me happy... ^^;

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OoT (Young) - MM - LttP - Oracles - LA

/

TMC

OoT (Old) - TWW - (FS Back story and AoL Back story) FS - FSA - LoZ - AoL

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here's my indepth, play-by-play!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In ancient times, Vaati tries to control Hyrule by obtaining the golden light that is in Zelda I. Link I defeats Vaati using the Four Sword and the “Minish Cap”.

Many years later, a Gerudo named Ganondorf tries to control Hyrule by obtaining the Triforce. Link II and Zelda II plot to try to stop him but end up allowing him to take control of Hyrule for seven years. The Triforce was split between, Zelda II, Link II, and Ganondorf. By using the Master Sword and awakening the seven sages, Link II helps seal away Ganondorf in the Sacred Realm. Zelda II sends Link II back in time to before any of it had happened and the timeline splits.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Young Timeline-
During the “Sealing War”, the seven sages seal Ganon away in the Sacred Realm. As a child, Link II accidentally finds himself in Termina, an alternate dimension where he saves the world from impending doom.

A generation later, a sorcerer named Agunim (may be Ganon himself or perhaps Vaati?) tries take over Hyrule and tries to help free Ganon from the Sacred Realm (Now known as the Dark World). Link III uses the Master Sword to kill Ganon and prevents Hyrule from becoming the “Dark World.” Zelda III is saved and Hyrule is returned to peace under the protection of the full Triforce. The Master Sword sleeps forever.

Another generation later, Hyrule is in prosperity, but the neighboring country of Labrynna and Holodrum are not. The Triforce sends Link IV over to help sort things out. It turns out that Ganon’s minions, Twinrova, are behind it all and are trying to sacrifice Zelda to bring back Ganon. Their plan almost succeeds by Link IV kills the “ghost form” of Ganon that is released and everyone is saved. Zelda IV returns to Hyrule.

Link IV sets off back to Hyrule, but his ship gets caught in a storm and he gets sidetracked in a dream adventure on a mysterious island.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Old Timeline-
After the seven sages and Link sealed away Ganon, Hyrule returned to peace for a while. But the peace did not last and Ganon found a way to escape. Link II, who saved them before was nowhere to be found and Hyrule was doomed. But the Hylians pleaded and the gods sealed away Ganon, but for a price: they flooded all of Hyrule, leaving only a scatter of islands.

Time went on, Link III gets caught up in the mess with Ganon (who has escaped) when his sister is captured by mistake. Guided by an ancient Hyrule King, he journeys to get the Master Sword so that he can save his sister from Ganon. A pirate named Tetra soon discovers that she is actually Princess Zelda III and helps Link III out. Link III travels to the ancient ruins of Hyrule underwater and along with getting the Master Sword, Link III also must collect the Triforce of Courage. Once Zelda’s, Link’s, and Ganon’s Triforce pieces are brought together, the King of Hyrule makes a wish before Ganon can. Ganon is defeated by Link III, and all of the old Hyrule is destroyed by the ocean, and Link III and Zelda III set out for a new world all their own.

Many, many years later, (Either the islands become one or a new Hyrule is found) Hyrule is in a time of peace. The King rules with all three pieces of the Triforce peacefully, but one day the king dies. The Prince is angry because he is unable to inherit all the pieces of the Triforce. He calls upon a sorcerer, and the Prince and sorcerer find out that Princess Zelda IV has the last piece of the Triforce. Things get out of hand and the sorcerer puts Zelda IV into an eternal sleep. In her honor, all princesses thereafter are named Zelda. The sorcerer turns out to be Vaati and goes about capturing maidens. Soon, a young boy appears and uses the Four Sword to seal Vaati away with in it. The Triforce of Courage is hidden away and a spell is cast to protect it.

A generation passes, and Zelda V takes her childhood friend Link IV with her to inspect the old seal on the Four Sword. When they get there, they see the seal is broken and Vaati captures Princess Zelda V. Link IV grabs the Four Sword and uses his quadruple power to seal Vaati away and save Zelda V.

A few years later, Ganon uses the Dark Mirror to make Shadow versions of Link that go about Hyrule causing trouble. Zelda V and her shrine maidens go to check on the seal of the Four Sword when she feels a bad omen. Shadow Link comes and captures Zelda V and tricks Link IV into pulling the Four Sword, which releases Vaati. Everything is going according to Ganon’s plan, until Link IV uses the Four Sword to finally save the maidens and defeat Vaati. Ganon comes to do his own work and Zelda V, Link IV, and the maidens all work together to seal Ganon within in the Four Sword. Hyrule is at peace again.

Hyrule is in age of chaos, the seal on the Four Sword is destroyed and Ganon is released unto the world. He acquires the Triforce of Power and has a demon army that he uses to try to get Zelda VI to give him the Triforce of Wisdom. She refuses and shatters the Triforce into many pieces, scattering them around Hyrule. Link V comes to the rescue and collects the fragments and uses its power to kill Ganon for good. Zelda VI and Hyrule are saved.

Even though Ganon is dead, everything is not right with Hyrule. Ganon’s old followers are trying to get Link V’s blood to revive Ganon and Link V, suddenly has the Triforce symbol appear on his hand. He finds out the “Legend of Zelda”: The legend of how Zelda IV was put to sleep because of the Prince’s greed and how the Triforce of Courage was hidden away. Link goes out to break the barrier spell on the Triforce of Courage and eventually does so. He uses the Triforce of Courage and Zelda IV is awakened. The Triforce is reunited and peace returns to Hyrule.

I'll give you props for going against the odds and submitting a split timeline. It's not bad. Now, I do have some problems with it.

1) How could the sorcerer, that put a spell on the princess, be Vaati? If you look back at the AoL backstory, in the manual, you'll notice that after he puts the spell on Zelda...he, "breathed his last..." as in he died right after putting the spell on Zelda. So, he couldn't have gone on kidnapping girls as Vaati. Then again he could've been revived--ain't that what villains do these days!

2.) I like how you didn't use Link's name in your retelling of the FS backstory, considering all we know is a young boy came from nowhere with the foursword (but I think it may be apparent it might have been Link).

3.) Going back to the "Sealing War" or "Imprisoning War", was Ganon still around in the past when Link returned or was he stuck in the Sacred Realm? I ask this because so many people in this forum have this ridiculous idea that when Ganon is sealed in the future--it transcends times thus making him sealed in the past as well (WTF). Here's another, some people think Link went back to point in the past while Ganon was still in the Sacred Realm to steal the Triforce. They claim Link trapped him there by placing back the Master Sword. So while he was stealing the Triforce, he got stuck! (How anti-climatic is that).

Now, here's what I and very few believe. I think when Link returned Ganon was still in the past. With knowledge of what could happen, Zelda and Link at least delayed Ganon's plans by not tampering with the Master Sword. Now, Ganon has to find some other way into the Sacred Realm. Time goes on and eventually Ganon devises a devious plan to enter Realm--whatever it is--it works, thus spawning the Imprisoning War of that timeline. It happens very similar to the way it's described in the LTTP backstory. Unless, this is what you already had in mind?

4.) I don't know about the positioning of the FS series and Oracles...sometimes I place the Oracles after AoL. I somewhat agree with you on the placement of the FS series, but I'm debating it. So far your timeline is a little similar to mine.

1) NOOOO!!!! DAMN! I can't believe I completely looked past that line. x___X Well, I suppose I can just say that the two backstories happened "around the same time" and it was just a different sorcerer.

2) I always make sure to not to refer to him as Link. It confuses me if I do.

3) I believe that after Zelda and Link seal away Ganon, Link is sent back to a time before the Master Sword was ever pulled. Ganondorf is still about scheming and the Triforce is resting safely in the Sacred Realm. At some point Ganon tries to the get the Triforce by some other method and almost succeeds, but the seven sages (and maybe and older Link with the Master Sword?) stop him and seal him in the Sacred Realm.

4) I wanted to try something completely different with the Four Sword series and the Oracles. The Oracles just confuse me soooo much.......

Well, I was thinking he does succeed in getting the Triforce (just like in the LTTP backstory) but he doesn't suceed in taking over Hyrule, because he is sealed with the WHOLE Triforce (not just the Triforce of Power). At the start of LTTP, Ganon has the whole Triforce within the Dark World (formerly the Sacred Realm).

I sometimes question the FS and MC positioning. I mean...the red shield used in the MC is the same shield that is used in TWW, and the rest of the FS series! I know that's not much...but it should be considered.

Yeah, I meant that he and the whole Triforce were sealed back in the Realm. (whether he was able to get a hold of it or not)

MC really confuses me... I just have to place it first for some reason. It just seems like it's in a completely different Hyrule than we've ever seen before. (All the landforms are so different) It just has the feel of a prequel to me.

Actually I found TMC Hyrule to look a whole lot like FSA's Hyrule. You should check it out for yourself, you may see it too.

We'll my friend and I are just having some fun and overlapping maps. Right now we have a whole bunch of maps that connect to FSA. It's almost like FSA is a combonation of variouis Zelda overworlds.

Yeah, Davo had an article on his site that proved the LttP and OoT maps were the same. The FSA map looks similar to the LttP one too.

LttP and OOT maps aren't the same, due to the placement of teh_lake, or so from I've seen trying to blend them togeather.

I think Nintendo is just out to drive us nuts. :P

Maybe, since Hyrule's supposed to be a country, we never see the whole thing at once, and all the maps exist simultaneously O-o or not :P
