At first, one would think that LBW woulds be the most benign entry in the series from a timeline perspective. It was a direct sequel to LttP and in the decline timeline, which is the timeline lightest on plot and with the smallest focus from Nintendo.
But then I started a second playthrough and re-read the tapestries in Hyrule Castle. I don't have the text handy, but they seemed to talk about the imprisoning war moreso than LttP.
1. The sages sealed the Triforce in the Sacred Realm and everything was cool
2. Ganondorf stole the Triforce
3. A hero beat down Ganon
4. The Triforce split into three and went AWOL
So that shouldn't be a big deal, but then you think about it a bit. It just doesn't mesh with what he know about the Decline Timeline. In that one, you get a Game Over in Ocarina of Time and stop playing, then the forces of Hyrule muster a defense against Ganon and seal him in the Sacred World, which becomes the Dark World.
So that's the first incompatibility. In one version of events, the Knights of Hyrule and the Sages seal Ganon. In the other, the Hero is successful.
Then there's the bit about the Triforce splitting. The Triforce is already split by the time of Ocarina of Time, so what is this about it not splitting until afterwards?
None of this works and I hate the official timeline.
