Nice little preview of a seemingly open-world Zelda. We've been burned before (first preview of Twilight Princess showed many misleading things) but I remain hopeful here.
I like the "horses don't run into trees" quote. XD

Yes...I watched this last night with my wife and I am seriously excited. This is looking like the Zelda game I've been wanting since 1998. Hopefully it has SS/OoT's great dungeon atmosphere as well. Zelda dungeons are best when they are creepy and actually look like places where scary things would dwell. I've never been a big fan of the Zelda series's new gimmick of Ancient Alien dungeons where there is awesome technology that no one is using. They have slowly moved away from Zelda's more medieval dungeon stylings and into a more...I dunno, weird aesthetic that I'm not a big fan of.
EDIT: Which, I'm really not opposed to as an idea. Its Japanese people making the games, so if they make them Japanese, its fine...but Zelda has always been a bit more neutral as far as cultural influence goes. It's only after Aonuma took the reigns that we got away from that.
My favorite Zelda dungeons of all time are the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time, the Shadow Temple from the same game, and the Ancient Cistern and Skyview Temples from Skyward Sword. Best dungeon aesthetic ever.

I agree that the video looks super promising. I've said it before that Link Between Worlds really restored my faith in the Zelda series after a lot of bad games. Riding a horse around a field isn't the most exciting thing in the world, but if it means open world, and open world means exploration, I'm happy. I want a Zelda game where everyone has a unique experience.
On the non-game-related front, where did they get these voice-over guys? It is super weird to have some 20 year old bro's voice coming out of two middle-aged Japanese businessmen.

I am seriously worried that the overworld will be too large. There were several cuts in that trailer, and then Aonuma said it would take five more minutes. And that segment was tiny compared to the map. We're talking it taking over an hour just to go from one side of the world to another. Bigger is not necessarily better; Zelda games have historically struggled to match content to the size of the world they have, and I will believe this one is different when I play it.
At this point I'm a little disturbed that we don't even have a title. Nintendo likely knows we don't actually need to hear it, but I would really like to see something better than "Zelda U" when talking about it on the internet.
That said, between this and Xenoblade X, I am seriously considering buying a Wii U. Making Epona like Agro in Shadow of the Colossus is a huge upgrade. I hope there will be crafting or mapping to do. A real orienteering minigame would be nice, but it could get old quickly. Crafting things while on Epona would be awesome multitasking, it all just depends. I know Nintendo is holding back, and I very VERY much hope that's a good thing. It's just being a jaded cynic I half expect it to not be.

I assume there will be some kind of warp between areas, like in Wind Waker (and other games obviously). But really what sold me wasn't the horse mechanics, but that moment Link just jumps off the cliff with a sail cloth. We see a lot of open world games now, but it's really refreshing to see one where there is such a stunning freedom of movement like we see here. I find myself thinking it would be grand to have the clawshots return for a mechanic similar to the Arkham games. Anything to add a lot of versatility of movement!
But I just hope we're not looking at a lot of empty boring space either.
