i'm moving this.

Anyway, I don't think the forum is dead. Just because a place isn't as active as the commons doesn't mean its "dead".

No, but it's the slowest one up there, aside from the Times, which I think we can get rid of if www.legendsalliance.com would exist- I'm keeping it until then!

no, I think this place is dead. you can't compare any other section with the commons, because none are that active... in your sense, all the sections are dead.

nothing ever goes on here. I'm talking, weeks. you can only say so much about books and television shows...

Contro get about half the traffic the commons does, and Gaming and Media aren't too far behind. There's a basic level of posting that counts as "alive." Also, I'm only talking about sections of the "Legends Alliance" Bloc.

Anime may be fairly inactive right now, but it's still treated like an essential part of LA. I think part of it is a matter of people wanting to bring up dead topics (rather than start a second, new thread) whenever they start to watch that particular series, and not being allowed to do so...but ah well. It happens. Right now we just haveta..figure out how to bring all of LA to life again.

It's complicated. There's a discussion in the mod forum of iterating a scalable shift-management procedure, with the fore-goal of initating a full-scale alacrative paradigm transition.

yeah right. this is the original dead section.

the only reason it's active right now is because we're talking about how inactive it is. now that's pretty sad.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Japanese cartoons are hideous, pornographic and unecessarily violent. I don't care about pointy noses, small mouths, big eyes and big boobs. The animation is cheap as well. The background characters don't move and sometimes the scene stays still and their mouths just move. Don't get me wrong, I love InuYasha but I hate the art.

C'mon now, that kind of random comment is only going to provoke some arguments, especially since this thread hadn't been posted in for almost a month. If you don't like anime, then you simply don't post there. I don't like Zelda all that much, but I don't badmouth it without good reason to, nor do I post in those sections. ;)

Don't like it? Don't watch it. Otherwise, shut your narrow-minded, ignorant, and (most likely) racist mouth.

Good God that's so ignorant of you to say. I mean really. If you don't like it you don't have to talk about it or watch it. You're just trying to start something and this isn't the place for it. Think before you speak.

Of course there are some anime/manga that are pornographic: that's what we call hentai. As with any large-scale entertainment medium, you're going to find a little bit for everybody...and that includes the perverts.

Live action movies in America almost go too far at times with the amount of nudity they show- not that it's the nudity itself that upsets me if it's done artfully, but so much of it is just to get 12-year-old kids hot over it. We all have our problems- and frankly, I can't say that American comics often look that pretty, themselves.

I mean, come on. Marvel gals scare the crud outta me.

Way, way, way wrong thread to put this in pal. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but anime, like any form of media, has its genres and differences in quality. The days of anime being cheap looking in general have been over, though to be fair, it's still fairly recent. Besides, the "cheap" artstyle of anime was born of neccesity - they never (and still don't) have the massive resources that Western animations tudios like Disney or Warner Brothers had back in the day, and as such had to make due with what they have - the style was born of the limitations budgets placed upon them, which to a lesser degree persists today even when they do indeed have a pretty darn good budget. Besides, American cartoons range as well - you have crap like Team-O Supremo ranging to the DC Animated Universe shows, all the way to big budget stuff that while sorely lacking lately is absolutely teeming with detail. Same goes for anime - from simplistic Pokemon (which has recently gotten a higher budget, causing it to look moderns now) to artsy, detail packed stuff like Metropolis and Appleseed. Complaining about fan service? Then complain about the innuendos and other random stuff Western shows have - it's the exact same thing, just a different form. All the extreme violence and perversions are safely kept in their own genres, and even when they aren't, hey, the same thing happens here in live action flicks - things are violent for NO REASON WHATSOEVER in so many PG-13 movies it's not even funny - not to mention the uneccassary make-out/love scenes that come. What people have to understand is that just because it's animated doesn't mean it's kiddy stuff and should be judged as such - hell, Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles - by WB and Disney, respectively - should have proven this beyond a shadow of a doubt to anyone by now, so I don't see why they should be judged differently from another animated series because it's from another country.

In other words, if you make such crazed, harsh criticisms, actually back them up, and do it IN THE RIGHT SECTION, DAMMIT.

*takes Zythe by the shoulder* No, see man. That was my idea. And if they did that, it would be implying that they gave a shit what I thought. And they can't do that. It's not good business you know? They must leave it exactly where it is. Don't feel bad, its not your fault.
