So I just stumbled across this.

Wow. Just wow.

Long story short, this guy claims that several alien species have been studying Earth, particularly since the Cold War, that at least four species are involved, and that he's a whistle-blower on a cover-up.

I'm going to save further comments for my opinion post, because there are some interesting ideas here...but if you want the long and the short of my opinion, look to the topic name.

Should make for an interesting discussion, though.

Well...on the one hand, you never know, must keep open-minded, so on and so forth. I do find it unusual that many the aliens are being depicted as more or less benevolent, which is rare in these sort of conspiracies.

On the other hand, with my social work hat on...he didn't start making these claims until he was about 80, which means it's rather possible that the man's cognitive faculties have declined.

Like I said, the guy makes some interesting claims, but after looking at his stuff for a few minutes I concluded he was a man on a soap-box more than a whistle-blower. I youtube searched the guy's name and came up with a congressional hearing of sorts, although it didn't cite when or where this happened and who invited him to speak.

They gave him about twenty minutes. Of that time he spent perhaps five talking about what he was "whistle-blowing" and fifteen talking about the "kabal" shadow government or our need to develop zero point energy to fight global warming. Oh, yeah, zero point energy as an energy source is a total butchering of the physics, as far as I can tell.

So yeah, a man on a soap-box.

He also made some suspiciously specific claims, like aliens had a federation and an agreement to not get involved. Considering the scant information he gives (and by implication what he has) that conclusion is anything but certain.

I'll take a break before I discuss the good things he said.

Assuming, as I am, that he's somewhat addled, I wonder where that concept could possibly come from. Never heard it before.

Oh, I'm sure. And the book he mentions occasionally--The Day After Roswell--was interesting to say the least. I've read at it. It's just irritating he makes such claims, with ideas which are clearly lifted straight out of Star Trek and immediately changes the subject. Whistle-blowers don't talk about global warming or shadow government conspiracy theories, or at least they typically don't when they've actually got information.

But, if ET were out there, I imagine nuclear tests would have gotten their attention. Nuclear technology is prerequisite to interplanetary travel and the flashes of radiation from artificial weapons are probably quite discernible from the cosmic background.

That said, assuming that was the case and Roswell was a legit alien crash site, I have a hard time believing they still have a presence here. Even if the Roswell crash was accidental (and The Day After Roswell said it was deliberately shot down) if they have some interest here worth being here over, it's worth blowing their covert status over. Concealment just makes their tasks needlessly risky. They haven't blown their cover, ergo I think they're not here, at least not anymore. I imagine that Elvis lost interest in us back in the sixties and went home.

I think if advanced ET life existed out there, we'd probably be the threat and they might have a vested interest in making sure we don't achieve interstellar travel.

Other than that what he says seems like it was pulled straight out of well known, well established scifi media. The Nords he mentioned were popular in fiction before the Grays became a huge thing. He hasn't really brought anything new to the table that people haven't already speculated about for ages. I'm surprised he didn't mention Reptilians and Hollow Earth Theory and start pulling excerpts from the movie, "They Live." He doesn't strike me as delusional though and I doubt someone of his rank would make something like this up for fame. He's old but not addled. So, I don't know! I just think it's interesting.
