I would normally just post this on FB but I can't yet because it's a surprise present for my friend whose shower is a whole two weeks away. So I need to share it with you guys right now! edit: oh and I forgot to mention that I knitted this.

This is the whole blanket, not folded or anything:

Here it is folded on a pillow:

And here's a detail shot! I LOVE this yarn for this leafy pattern, because from far away it looks like a cool brown, but close up it's an orange and green heather! So earthy!

AHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT and I can't wait to send it to him!

That's really cool, I wish I could knit that well. The best thing I have ever done is a ribbed pattern on a scarf

It's all super easy canas. Every time I get nervous about trying out a new technique, I laugh at myself afterwards for thinking it would have been difficult.

one would think so, but I do not have a whole lot of manual dexterity and I failed at trying to do a lot of things

I KNOW GUYS I LOVE THIS TOO. That's why I needed to share it because everyone needs to appreciate it as much as I do.

Rachael I knitted a full-sized afghan once. ONCE. Never again. I hate big projects; I don't have the attention span for it. That's one reason I'm excited that I have a baby to knit for now—baby things are tiny and I can make like 17 baby socks in a single day.

Thanks for all the compliments! Evan picked out the yarn. I should give him proper credit.
