[Chukchi Husky]

I was recently asked to do a painting of a vulture for a display that happened over the weekend at a nearby village.

 

 

The paints that I used were acrylics, but I could only use bad brushes, and the paint has problems with trying to stick to the wood.  I guess it's no excuse for how rubbish I am at painting.

 

The same display used older paintings that I did years ago, so I took the opportunity to take photos of them.

The fox is certainly the best in terms of the quality but there is a rough artistic edge to the one of the two vultures, so I like both.

Hmm...to tell you the truth, the "roughness" of the vulture picture actually adds to its appeal. They're scavengers, after all. I've never seen a painting on raw wood, but I can imagine that it's a very tricky medium. The fox is great, and I love the eyes on it, but my one nitpick is that the pupils aren't quite aligned. Oh, and I love the colors on that bird.
