Was the title too sensational? I can never tell with these kinds of things.

What I'm going to post isn't something that I researched painstakingly like the case for Christ or citing the bible. This is strictly my opinion on the matter gained through the observation of other people.

So I saw this, and many things like this for that matter.

Spoiler

Now, this whole thing is just coming off as wrong. People, who in theory practice the teachings of Jesus Christ just flapping their gums as they condemn and hate and just cover the internet with their opinionated disdain for anyone who tells them no. This is the same Jesus Christ who is written to have died for the total sum of mankind's past and future transgressions against God solely out of his love and compassion for humanity. John 3:16 and all that. And these are the so-called followers of Jesus, who are clearly as fallible and pitiful as the rest of humanity are making the entirety of the religion they claim to follow appear just plain awful. They are a stereotype that brands the lot of them. And I submit to you, if this is a reflection of their hearts after hearing and learning the teachings of Jesus they are going to be going to Hell with those they claim have a place there.

Being religious is not easy. You are actively repressing and reprogramming your baser instincts to come in co-ordinance with the laws of God. You actively take precautions and steps to become a better person, a more enlightened person, etc. You are taking every level of shit imaginable for what you believe because critics and haters are going to tell you that you are wrong, stupid, ignorant, etc. for doing what you are doing and these people will be under the impression that they are doing you a favor. You sometimes have to kill yourself to follow what you believe is right and you can't expect anything in return. But to focus in on Christianity. Accepting Jesus Christ into one's heart, to accept him as your Lord and Savior and follow him for the rest of one's mortal life so that in death you may be given a place in Heaven with eternal life is the big draw here. You don't want to go to Hell, it sucks there like you would not believe, the other place is much much better. But many Christians have this idea that "Oh, so just accept Christ and I get to go to Heaven" is this sort of get out of jail free card and that they can just continue living as sinfully as they want to without worrying about the consequences. The consequences are always present, no matter what team you are playing for. That is why we have the forgiveness clause, that Jesus Christ died so that mankind can still be forgiven for their shortcomings and still have that impossible shot to get to Heaven.

But people who believe that this ignorant behavior is somehow glorifying God are so fucking twisted in their thinking that they can't tell that they are sinning. Or people who think that throwing stones at those who are different from them because they do not share the same views must be openly rebuked and shamed and slandered. Or people who think that their piousness is so great and so expansive that they'll surely get into heaven because these particular motherfuckers are so damn wonderful. No, they are going to Hell. They are going to Hell because they are not following the standards set by Jesus and they are too fucking blind to realize that they are perpetrating the same kind of evil that they believe they are rebuking.

A Christian isn't the title of someone who is saved and going to Heaven. A Christian is someone who recognizes their shortcomings and is willing to improve themselves by the grace of God. And no, no matter what a Christian might do to improve themselves by following their faith, they will never make the grade. They will never be on the same level as Jesus is, or God is. Even the most pious of saints couldn't reach those heights. But that doesn't mean you don't keep trying. If God sent his son to earth to die for all sins, I see that as meeting you half-way. It's an active process to walk the "straight and narrow" path and so long as your heart is in it, that is the most important thing that matters. Because no matter who you are, you are going to sin and you will fall into your vices time and time again but it's whether you still want to pick yourself up at the end of the day and try again that matters. Because Christians, who are so plagued with their own flaws believe that Heaven is waiting for them so long as they keep on fighting the good fight. It's not about knowing the scriptures solely for academic purposes, it's not about just doing good works, it not about acting good all the time so you can get into Heaven. It's about your fucking heart.

So back to the topic of these pitiful motherfucking sadsacks who think that they can do this kind of shit and still get into Heaven because they think this is a proper reflection of their faith. These people have no right to call themselves followers of Jesus Christ. Hoping someone is damned to Hell? Not the fucking Christian thing to do. Wanting to kill non-believers for thinking differently than you or saying that you are wrong in your faith? Not the fucking Christian thing to do. Saying that they should suffer in any way shape or form, telling them they should leave and be excluded? Not the fucking Christian thing to do. Rather than trying to be a good example of Christ, they are literally stooping into the mud to join in the ignorant mudslinging. They are taking the name of Christianity and dragging it along in the mud. And it's a shame when people do this, it really is because it brands all people of that faith this way. If atheists and homosexuals make God weep I dare not imagine what this kind of shit does. Because this isn't a defense of their faith. This isn't an argument of beliefs. This is a bunch of ignorant motherfuckers who think this is acceptable behavior for a Christian.

So what do I think a Christian should do whenever they are faced with someone who thinks or lives differently than they do. Well, for starters it's best to kind of learn about it. You can co-exist, you can share your views as they can share theirs. Don't shove your views down their throats, although there is no guarantee that they will do the same. Even if you can't agree you can at least respect each other. Even in the midst of arguments and disputes from those who'd love nothing more than to rip you apart that you don't have to hate them back. I'm not saying that anyone should just lay down and take abuse, standing up for oneself is just standard advice. Just don't be the fucking douche who starts arguments like that. If God sorts out the mess, then there isn't a damn reason for you to do anything of the sort. Know where you stand with God and let God to the rest.

I personally believe that those people that said those things shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves Christians. They're doing the complete opposite of what Christians believe.

Saying "I love Jesus" and then doing this crap does not mean you're a Christian. It just means you're saying something and not going through with it. Actions speak louder than words.

I pretty much agree with almost everything you said in the last two paragraphs. A lot of my friends don't share my beliefs, but I don't shove it down their throats, and I'll answer any questions they have. My only problem is when they start insulting me on what I believe. I still don't force it, but I stand up for myself. It's what I believe, I want to stick to it, and nothing no one will say will change my mind. I'll still listen to what you believe, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna believe it, too. I'll respect you if you respect me. It's not that hard, really.

And I'm not perfect, none of us are. I wish that some people will just disappear from the face of the earth in my head sometimes, but that's just because I don't like them for various reasons. We're human, we all think things like that. But it's not usually because of their beliefs. It's never okay to be like, "YOU'RE MUSLIM, I HOPE YOU DIE!" Like, no. Just stop. STAHP.

If atheists and homosexuals make God weep I dare not imagine what this kind of shit does.

I guess I can answer this through what my personal beliefs are... actually based on what the sermon was based off of on Sunday. Now, I'm not 100% sure if this is completely right because I might remember it wrong because I was kinda spacing off Sunday. XD

But my grandma (My grandma is the pastor of our church so yeah) was talking about how people who actually know who God is and then they do stuff like this are actually worse than sinners who don't know God, just because they know who God is and what He can do. So, it's kinda like they KNOW what's right, but they're gonna go ahead and not do it because "Whatever, whatever, I do what I want." If that makes sense. Those were not my grandma's exact words. If she said "whatever, whatever I do what I want" I would probably die laughing. I paraphrased.

I feel like I went off topic. There's a million things going on in my head and I tried to make it make sense.

My point is, as a Christian myself, this kind of behavior is not okay, and it makes Jesus sad. This is not the image that I as a Christian want portrayed on myself. (Which unfortunately, happens a lot. Even though I never do stuff like this.)

The Catholic Church was (and someone would argue still is) the biggest corporation in the world.

But this phenomenon occurs in all religion and all culture (AKA idiots).

If the point of this thread is to point out something silly Christians say I'd contend it is funnier that they say Nothing can oppose God's will but somehow they all believe in hell and the supposition of his opposition, the Devil.

**I'm just explaining this, I'm not trying to sound all preachy.**

Well, humans have free will. The only thing God cannot do is make a human do something (such as believe in Him). So, if a human does not do God's will, then whatever is not of God is of the Devil.

God won't take people into heaven if they have not done His will. There are some exceptions, like if someone is dying and they repent, God will save their souls and the such.

I've tried to sum it up as much as I can as to why Christians believe in Satan and Hell, but it may not make sense. So if you have more questions, I'll have to double check with my grandma, because she understands it better than I do.

I'd like to have a crack at this one. The way that the churches see the devil, that no matter what he attempts, Jesus died on the cross for our Sins, and that his sacrifice saved humanity from the Devil, and Sin. The way we see it, it'd be like the Devil is trying to deny the existence of gravity, and although he may be able to out argue everyone - gravity still exists. The battle was won on the cross at Calvary.  That may be the one thing that All Christian churches agree on.

To go a bit more in depth on the nature of hell. (which causes a lot of arguments within the churches themselves), if Sin is anything that separates humanity from God; then Hell is permanent separation from Christ for all eternity. It has been imagined as hot and flames, but it has also been imagined as cold and dark. In essence, hell is permanent separation from God. The Devil chose to put himself before God, which is why he was cast into hell, and permanent separation from God.

The thing is, if you don't believe in God, then hell shouldn't be a horrible thing for you, because you never believed in what you'd be separate from. If you do believe in God, then the aim is to good life, and to be an example of Christ for others. What those guys on Facebook were doing was not showing Christs love to others. I'd only ask, don't place the majority of believers in the same boat as those people. Just as there are douche bags, there are those of us who try to be good people.
