Wow, haven't posted here in a long time.
Anyhow, that's my question: when does Majora's Mask happen? Not in a large scale timeline way, but in a what time of year/season way. I'm currently writing a fanfic and it struck me that I actually don't think it's ever been specifically mentioned.
My best guess would be springtime for 2 reasons:
1. References to spring not yet coming to the mountains/Snowhead area yet and
2. The fact that in the game both daytime and nighttime are equal, i.e. 12 hours long
The second points to either the spring or fall equinox, but the first points more to spring.
So, what's everyone's thoughts?

Random Question: What time of year does Majora's Mask take place?

I'm with you. The fact that Snowhead was expected to thaw but hadn't yet points to spring. Actually, having the Festival take place during the Equinox makes a lot of sense, since that's a fairly universal period of celebration in our world too.
Granted, if Termina's anything like the world of Hyrule seasons might be changeable at the wave of a wand, so assuming that things work like they do in our world could be a bit of a stretch XD

What's the fanfic?
I wrote it years ago for a friend, but I'm rewriting it now because while I still like the overall story and a lot of the dialogue, my writing style has changed for the better and so I wanted to update it. Also there were plotholes.
