Apparently having an eye implant is probable cause to be assaulted and kicked out, according to McDonald's.

Honestly, I'm glad Reddit was so quick to get on the ball with this one.

I wonder how they feel about people who wear eye patches.
I think the problem was with the fact that he had a camera. Lots of establishments make a huge stink about having cameras inside the building but the way these people reacted was very extreme and gave me the impression that they had something to hide that they didn't want recorded. Which is why it's ironic that because they assaulted the guy, that the assault was recorded at all. Had they left the man alone, nothing wouldn't have been recorded by the device.
I hope this doesn't just get brushed aside by McDonalds like they usually do when stuff like this occurs.
In any case, McDonalds is probably not the best place to go anyways. They just recently added real meat back their burgers. What the hell were they trying to pass as meat before?

The Canadian university professor was at the restaurant with his family when three different McDonalds employees took exception to his "Digital Eye Glass" device and attempted to forcibly remove it from his head. Mann was then physically removed from the store by the employees, along with having his support documentation destroyed.
Being a little rough with someone with a camera I could understand...if McDonalds were a movie theater looking to protect their movies from being pirated. It's not. It's a public restaurant. And picking on the handicapped kid because you don't like cameras? Not cool. I work under constant video surveillance, and I'm sure several other people here do as well. It's normal these days, and it's kind of suspicious to react like this.
Apparently this isn't the first time this has happened to the dude, either, with run ins with the NYPD and US Secret Service. The Secret Service? Really?! Somebody should pull that rookie aside and explain that spies usually don't graft things like cameras to their faces.
