[Sir Turtlelot]

I just came across this not too long ago and read through it (or at least what they have done), and I really enjoyed it. Essentially, they are making a manga based off of the NES era games, with references to the TV show/comics and even some design references to the later games. Even though it's still a work in progress, I would highly recommend giving it a quick read.

Actually, I think I've seen this a while ago. Great concept. I thought you meant an actual Zelda anime though. There's a rumor that's in the works too. It's based off ALttP.

This isn't the first NES Zelda comic I've come across (the first I can't find anywhere for the life of me) but this one looks promising. Seems as though it just started so it might be best to give it a little more time so the backlog fills out.

It's just some zooming and panning over colored scans of the manga with some sound effects, cross-fading between frames and the occasional mouthflap. It'd be a stretch and a half to call it an "animation."

No. Same people, but different rumor about how they were going to actually make an anime with a different art style and the guy who does the voice for Edward Elric was going to voice Link. Which would be kinda awesome if it were true. Though personally I always imagined Link as sounding like whoever does Inuyasha and male Ranma's voice.

@JRPomazon, there used to bea whole site on mangas (I think they wee unofficial fanmade ones), several of which were NES LoZ based. Two of which had Hyrule being super advanced with one being extremely sexualized with Zelda wearing next to nothing and the other, Zelda is a little girl who inherits the Triforce of Wisdom from her blue haired mother (Who looked the Oracle Nayru to me).

The particular site I'm thinking of had three stories, one Wind Waker fan comic, one original LoZ comic and one doujinshi comic which was totally Dark Link x Zelda. That's all I can recall.
