I'm surprised that the Game and Watch Zelda is left off the "official" timeline. I guess no one cares about that game but me.

But really, is it the fact that this game is meaningless overall that it doesn't really get talked about much, or is it just its inaccessibility?

And lastly, how would it look in a timeline/the official timeline?

Here's a place where you can play the Zelda Game and Watch, along with other ones as well. A highly faithful recreation.

I once included it in my timelines, to be ornery as I am wont to do. But generally it would fit snugly between Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link. It's just Link off saving Zelda and fighting dragons and such. It gives him something to do in the years between the two NES games.

It has about as much story as the first game does. In other words, a typical Nintendo plot.

Heh, I always count it as one of the few proper Zeldas I have yet to play. A guy in line at the Pokémon VGC actually had it with him on Saturday for luck, so I got to see it up close. I'd have no real qualms about putting it in an official timeline. But then, I wouldn't be seriously averse to including the cartoons. And what about the Zelda Game Watch?

I've got it! Game & watch Zelda is at the beginning of the timeline! Before SS even. It takes place at a time when dragon were more plentiful and a few of them went roque and wreaked havoc on mankind. Volvagia and Stallord are resurrections of evil dragons from this era. G&W Link slays all the evil dragons and drives the rest far into isolation where thy remained as guardians of ancient relics. Eventually they faded into myths and legends.

On the other hand, Gleeoks and Aquamentus (Can we make their plural version be Aqua-mentos? The fresh-maker) are plentiful in the original Legend of Zelda.
