I actually got the game for GBA back in 2002, so it was some time before I found out about the original line. Good thing, since it would have driven me nuts. Maybe not that nuts, but close.

Yes, as a ten year old, my first thought was, "Does that mean Link won't get to bone Zelda!?"

Yeah I always assumed Zelda was Link's sister because of that line. When I found out is was a mistranslation I was disappointed.
