I despise Phantom Hourglass. I think the Temple of the Ocean King is the worst thing ever. I recently restarted playing up past the first dungeon, and I was thinking to myself, you know what? This isn't so bad. Then I had to go through the Temple of the Ocean King once again and then I remembered why I stopped playing a long time ago. I got to the last dungeon the first time I played. The LAST DUNGEON. But by that point I was so frustrated that I had to turn the game off.

So my question is, if I hated Phantom Hourglass, will I enjoy Spirit Tracks? I've been listening to the soundtrack lately and I feel I should give the game a try, and I hear that despite it having the very TOTOK Spirit Tower, it fixes the Temple of the Ocean King's repetitive nature. Is it worth trying out?

I would like to add that the PH dungeons weren't very fun to look at after a while, and I enjoyed sailing very much, so I don't think I'll have a problem with the train tracks thing.

No. Stay away from Spirit Tracks. The temple of the Ocean King may be gone, but the game is half as good as Phantom Hourglass.

I have to disagree with SteveT; I think Spirit Tracks was a vast improvement in almost every way. The dungeon design is a lot better (and fairly challenging for a Zelda game every now and then), the items are great, the characters are surprisingly enjoyable and the music is amazing. The two biggest complaints seem to be the Spirit Flute and the lack of freedom in the overworld, but I didn't have much problem with either of those things.

I found it pretty enjoyable. The tower isn't too repetitive; you can skip past bits you've already done, and it adds new stuff as you go. I like the characters and music, and in general I probably prefer it to PH. Watch out for instant game overs from annoying trains, though. That was just a little harsh.
