So based on what some people have said...

The overworld exploration of LoZ
The magic/experience/overworld size of AoL
The combat of ALttP
The quirkiness of LA
The epicness of OoT
The sidequests and NPCs of MM
The rings of OoX
The companions of TWW
The graphics of TP
The Zelda of ST
The item upgrading of SS

... what else?

I've never played Spirit Tracks, why is that game's Zelda better than the others? Is she a more involved character?

She's really, really not. She's the game's obnoxious interference helper character.

I had to think of something for Spirit Tracks! I just like the fact that she does something beyond sitting waiting for Link to rescue her for a change. (Tetra's fine until she gets a makoever...)

I guess WoG Zelda is even better in that respect.

I think the Zelda from SS was a much better step forward than ST. Yeah she gets kidnapped, but the first attempt fails and the first arc of the game is her and Impa on their own journey going from temple to temple to fulfill her own part of destiny. As opposed to, you know, her just waiting around for Link to rescue her. Heck, a good chunk of the game is spent just trying to catch up to her and Impa.

Also, the fact she's a friggin' Goddess.

Edit: If you need to include something from Spirit Tracks, I thought the way you swap between your partner was pretty neat and I liked the concept of Link being partnered up with bigger, stronger character to make up for him being a small child. I dig the whole suit of armor thing, but I didn't like the idea of being possessed by Zelda, at least not such prissy, delicate version of her. I guess they were trying to be ironic.

I'd just really like to not get shot by Zelda again. Final boss fight of windwaker gave me this undying hatred for the sight of Zelda wielding a bow.

Other than that, it might be kinda neat to see a Zelda game not focused on Zelda/Link/Ganon. Maybe have a game that concentrates on one of the other races, and some challenge or big story they might have been a part of. Give Link a vacation for a game or two. They've got a lot of material to work with, it could be fun for them to build a game not focused on the same guy.

Alternate endings would be awesome. If Link dies in the final battle it should show what happens to Hyrule afterwards, or if he gets all heart pieces/extra items and finish all the quests there should be an ending for that. And of course the normal ending! :)

I was kinda hoping SS would have at least slightly different endings. Heck, since HH shows they're going to make a third split all along, they could've made SS have two endings to facilitte the new split. I don't think an ending where Link dies would be that interesting though. It'd just be an elaborate game over. But rather I'd like to see a game where you have more choices in how Link reacts to situations, particularly when interacting with NPC's, and those choices end up giving you a different ending. For example, if you play Link as noble and good natured, you get a heroic ending but if you play as a badass who's rude and constantly breaks the law, you get a bittersweet ending where you beat the bad guy but everyone still hates you.

That's pretty much it except I prefer the Zelda of TP better.

I think making the plot of the dungeons of the first part of the game involve tracking down Zelda is kind of a drag, it makes you feel like you didnt really progress or anything.

Its basicly "our princess is in another castle".
