Ouch. What with the Twilight Princess game breaking bug too it's looking like Nintendo could do with playtesting their Zelda games a little more...

There are two game ending glitches in TP. Both involved saving and leaving the game at certain times. 1. Saving right after crossing the bridge that gets warped away. This causes you to reload into the game on the wrong side of the bridge. 2. Saving inside the concealed room that has the cannon before warping it away. When you reload you can't warp the cannon away because the dude is in the room(preventing you from becoming a wolf.), and you can't get out of the room either.

If you save the game and turn it off in the room with the big cannon, you'll be stuck forever.

Dang, that sucks. D: I guess I'll have to bookmark this page to go check it when I get to that point in the game and make sure I don't do it that way.. :S

A rare non-linear story-related segment of a Zelda game, and it has to have a game-ending bug. Dammit. Didn't happen to me, but, still, kind of a downer.

ZZ is not that surprised that the glitch was not found during testing. So many people are so used to the formula with the forest being first, not to mention that at that point in the game we know where the Dragon Faron resides within the forest(well... at least before we tried to get into the forest.), that a lot of the testers probably went there first on their first playthrough. Also it is likely that they talked to everyone multiple times only during their first or second playthroughs, and combined with the fact that Golo doesn't change his speech, or want/give anything even after Lanaryu is alive makes it even less likely that they would talked to him a second time after saving Lanaryu first on their 3rd or more run through the game.

I haven't played SS yet, so this doesn't make a lot of sense to me-- how easy is it to make this glitch happen by mistake? Does it involve any strange behavior on the part of the player?

Basically, there's a segment where you have three objectives, and you can do them in any order. if you do one before the other two, and talk to a certain character on that objective one too many times, it makes it so you can't trigger the beginning of the other two quests, making you stuck.

Huh. That is kinda easy to trigger, though, who really talks to Zelda NPCs several times?

In case anyone does run into the glitch by accident, apparently Nintendo released an an actual path for the thing other than mailing your game to Nintendo.
