Notice anything similar? Sorry - I know they are ZU's images, but you can't link to ZL's images...

I've always figured impa was one of the old women herself.

Weird, I never noticed the similarity. And this game is what, 18 years old? :P

I guess Impa fits the standard "old crone" mold in this game. Or maybe that piece of art was actually supposed to be of Impa.

Looky there TSA, you CAN link to ZL's images! Were you having a problem doing this?

The necklace is also the same too. Good find TSA.

I couldn't before!

Yeah, the necklace was another key item I wanted you to notice - it's the same in both images. Too bad her artwork is refined in The Adventure of Link manual...she has a more distinct look...

I agree with Maharet and others who think that Impa and the Old Woman are the same, because I never really did think otherwise.

Impa might be the old lady in the actual game - the one who sells potion...which would mean the old man knows her...

True, but you have to admit, in her OoT form, she's not exactly an old crone.

That's because it's just a lady with the same name. <.< Same goes for big fat half-sheikah impa in oracles.

^ Are you implying that that corpulent looking woman from Oracles is not full-Sheikah?

All the Impa's as much the same as all the Link's and Zelda's are the same. That said... well, that pretty much wraps up everything I wanted to say.

Er... well somehow she doesn't seem all that Sheikah-ish to me, plus she'd be the only one. She doesn't wear their symbol and she isn't a ninja.
I gave her the half from the hair and eyes, but for all we know those were put in to tie her to OoT Impa.
Hehehehe.. Corpulent... Fatty Corpuscle.. XD ... Nice icon, Jr. ^.^

Really, it's just as likely that she is in fact full sheikah as it is that she isn't. And old woman is an old woman, regardless of whether she was a warrior in the past. You can't expect her to continue toting her sword and other goodies and wearing that armor of hers at that age can you?

Actually REAL Ninjas try to blend in with their enviroment. When doing their spy work they disquise themselves as commoners, workers, and, in some cases, nursemaids. And you shouldn't let Oracles Impa's size fool you. I've seen hefty people who were wickedly fast.

Impa mentions in AoL that the scroll and the the crystals were handed down in her family for generations - it seems pretty safe to assume that all the Impa's in the games are related to each other in some way.

Maybe all the old women in LoZ are Sheikah...and since they hide in caves...maybe that's where they got the term "Shadow Folk"?

I sorta got the idea that all Sheikah were sort of vulcan-esque with a calm demeanor and buff physique..
but we know so little about sheikah that i'm as likely wrong as i am right, like you said. ^_^'
half-sheikah makes more sense to me, though. i once wrote a fan-thingy where impa's long-lost son married zelda... and so her line had some sheikah in it after that.. meh. XD
