Yesterday I waited and OoT 3D wasn't delivered. I shouldn't have preordered with play.com as they're unreliable, but I couldn't pass up the Zelda 3DS case that comes with it. Hey-ho. Today comes, the morning goes and still no OoT. So I said screw waiting until Monday (I assume) and I dashed into town to buy it from a physical shop. I figure I could sell the other copy when it arrives on ebay.

I get into the shop (GAME) and they have only one till working so there's a reasonable queue. I start chatting with one of the sales guys who's wearing an awesome Link hat they were given yesterday for launch. He asks me if I want a strategy guide, I say I know the game like the back of my hand. He asks me if I would like to pre-order any games while I'm waiting to pay (heh, opportunist, I approve), I say I'm waiting until nearer Skyward Sword's release date. He asks if I saw the WiiU tech demo of Zelda, I say do you remember the Spaceworld one, he says I'm pretty pessimistic, I say you go through ups and downs as a Zelda fan.

I finally get to pay and I ask him if they're selling those Link hats, he says no but they really should and he goes into the back and gives me one! Wow, really? Awesome I say! He also gives me one of the special pre-order boxes (which I don't see the point of as there's nothing in them, but free stuff? Give.)

Therefore

Makes up a little for missing out on the Aussie Ocarina.

As for the game, it's glorious. The 3D is excellent, I'll probably turn it off eventually to save my eyes but it's not too IN YO FACE like I thought it might be. Aside from the graphics, which are beautiful, the best feature is the motion control aiming. Initiating the Gohma fight can be done just by holding L and moving the 3DS up, really great.

It officially releases in the States tomorrow. I bought it via Amazon, so I have to wait until Monday... never mind that my friend who works at Best Buy has been lording his copy over me for two days...

I downloaded the 3D trailer from the eShop, so I know what to expect from the game, and I'm excited. It looks gorgeous.

ZELDA ASIDE, sweet hat, Vet! I have to wait and see if Amazon stuffed any neat stuff into the box along with mah OoT.

It seems like a good moment to remind my parents of how much I love them and how happy it would make me to get a Nintendo 3DS...

Well lucky you! Better make sure you keep that hat in good condition.

Just got the game today myself. Unfortunately, I don't know if I will be even getting the Club Nintendo soundtrack, since I botched the registration process when the time came to accept the soundtrack offer. Oh well. It's not like I needed it. It's just a soundtrack. I mean, Greece was getting more awesome stuff anyway. But I didn't need those either. Even if the ocarina looked cool. [/pout]

Seriously though, the game is nice. Like Vet said, the motion controls are a great addition. I thought I would prefer the old analog controls, but the motion really clicks. I rarely raise the 3D beyond 50% capacity when using the motion controls, but I do like turning the 3D all the way up from time to time. The full 3D really gives a sense of place when in effect. It's like I'm really in hyrule you guys! :linkomg:

Just done the forest temple and that one room where you fire an arrow through a torch? Hilarious if you choose to use motion aiming! ;d
