Feel free to punch me in the gut if this has been discussed before.

With the crest still being on Zelda's clothes in SS, I think the connection is very likely.

In light of recent info on Skyward Sword, I guess the bird in the Hylian Sheild depicts one of the giant birds their ancestors rode when they once lived in the heavens. Notice how Link's bird is red and the bird on the Hylian Sheild is red and has the same shaped head? You couldn't anymore be more obvious than that.
Who wants to bet that these giant birds are Rocs... Roxes... What's the plural for Roc?

Could it be that the siren world is actually the Sacred Realm...?

I am starting to think that the Hylian Shield will be removed in the final version. Why? because it seem inconsistence with the setting. The Hylian shield is the only thing so far that portrays the bird along with the triforce. And by what we know, the skyloftians doesn't seem to know about the Triforce ( so much ). This would explain why the shields front is NEVER depicted in any of the artworks. The shield is always turned in a direction so you cannot see its front. Thats sneaky of you, Nintendo.

That's the Siren Realm which could in all likelihood could be the Sacred Realm. There's several reasons to believe this is true. It may also be the Twilight Realm too since it has a simmilar atmoshpere.

The flower at the top has a faded petal, and ZZ remembers from watching the developer's confrence vid, that during the midding of the vid another one of those petals faded and then both petals returned to normal after Link walked into a tall pillar of green light. So it seems that its going to be timed like the Ocean King Temple(or whatever its name is.).
To ZZ it looks like the top triangle has a tiny face set in it, yet ZZ knows that that is just the back of the creature.
Could it be that the siren world is actually the Sacred Realm...?
Hmm... ZZ really does not know what to think about that, but if it is then why is it called the Siren World now? Did a siren walked in and made a wish on the Triforce resulting in this world(like ALttP Dark World and Ganon.)?

I agree that it could be either one, but I'm more inclined to think that it might be the Twilight Realm. Since Ghirahim bares a resemblance to the twili, especially his magic, and he seems to be a part of the group that might be the Dark Tribe, It's a strong possibility.

Since the shield still had the bird symbol on it in the E3 demos, I doubt they'll be changing it. After all, the game is pretty much finished.
