Shad is clearly wrong about who made Hyrule.

In TP, Shad explains how according to his theory, Hyrule was created by the group of bird people known as the Cucco.

But, we are told up front in OOT (in a cutscene being narrated by a magical tree no less) that it was the goddesses themselves who created Hyrule. And I trust the tree over the human scholar.

So yes, the goddesses made Hyrule, not those bird people.

Given what we learn about the Oocca and the Temple of Time, I always figured they were responsible for creating the kingdom of Hyrule, rather than the land.

What Fin said. From what I've seen, the name Hyrule can refer to both the kingdom and the land.

Wasn't that whole line from Shad a translation error to begin with?

The translation error was that the Oocca had made the Hylians. Hyrule is the corrected version.

What I'm currently most interested in, is the legend of the sky people.

At the moment I'm absolutely entranced by the sky beings known as the Oocca.

The common opinion is that Hyrule was created by the Hylia people, the race closest to the gods, but…

Yes, according to legend, Hyrule was made by the Hylians, who, as we all know, are the closest race to the gods.

…truth be told, there's also a theory saying that in ancient times there was a race even closer to the gods than the Hylia people, and THEY created it.

But also according to legend, long ago there was a race even closer to the gods, and some say THESE creatures made the Hylians.

And they, simultaneously with the birth of the Hylia people, created a new capital, a capital that floated in the heavens.

When they created the people of Hylia, they simultaneously created a new capital, a city that floated in the heavens.

Moreover, there is talk between scholars that they still live with the floating capital somewhere in the great sky.

They dwelt there...and some scholars believe that this race lives there still, somewhere in the great sky.

Sky people… That's great, isn't it? By all means, I really want to try and meet them!

Sky beings… Isn't that simply marvelous, old boy? What I wouldn't give to meet them!

And looking over those lines again, the fact that Shad talks about the common belief being that Hyrule was made by the Hylians really makes me think that he's talking about the kingdom.

Buh...!

Since when was it announced Ganon was in SS?

Oh well if he is in it, please make him an actual part of the plot and not some 11th hour addition just have in the game for shits and giggles.

Edit: Oh God, wrong topic. Oh well.

This entire thread has been nothing but retardedness.

Also, I'd bet money that the Oocca thing was just a troll at hardcore Zelda theorists who abuse facts. Atleast, that'd be my dream.

I've always seen the Oocca as Nintendo's way of trolling all the fans who think that the series' races have to be shiny pretty-boys who speak in overcomplicated ways and constantly flaunt a power level that's over 9,000. I just love browsing sites and seeing people throw hissy fits over the Oocca, making baseless theories about them not being the true sky people mentioned in TP or claiming that they're in cursed forms, all the while swearing to abandon Nintendo for the millionth time.

For Hyrule (the kingdom)'s beginnings, we have the stories in ALttP and TP. ALttP says that Hyrule is named after the Hylia, the race closest to the gods, who settled all over the world and passed their legends down to their descendants; with the place known as Hyrule being particularly full of Hylian remains. OoT and ALttP also make clear that many people of Hylian blood still live in Hyrule. It's no great leap of faith to assume that the Hylians are the people who actually founded Hyrule, then, though it isn't explicit; so TP's assertion that the kingdom was actually founded by the Oocca could potentially be true. Though why they would choose to name it after the Hylia is a mystery.

To be honest I hated the Oocca. (granted Ooccoo and Oocco Jr. were vvery helpful) Not because I expected all ancient advanced races to be bishie angelic beings, but the fact that they were too much like Cuccos with big bobble heads and can be used to glide through the air like a Cuccoo. I couldn't care how ugly or goofy an ancient race looked. I just find it hard to take them seriously when have more in common with livestock than the other sentient races. When I learned they were based off bird-like creatures in MC Escher's "Another World" I kinda grew to like them though. Although, it would have been better if they were designed more closely to those creatures which have more slender, dove-like bodies while the Oocca have more comical proportions.

On the otherhand, the Oooca kinda make sense. As an allegedly highly advanced race that lives almost entirely in an airbone city, a more humanoid body would not be as practical for them.

Dude, have you ever tried to kill a Cuccoo? They will fucking murder with with unstoppable omnipotent rage. If anyone is descended from godlike beings, it's those goddamn birds.

Which is ironic because in TP they don't attack you at all but good point. :P

They didn't attack TP Link because they knew he had connections to the Ancient Elder Ones, obviously.
