;_; This is why I can only do Peaceful mode. When I first spawned my world, it was right atop a spider dungeon, with a skeleton dungeon nearby. Frickin spiders attacked me even in mid-day with no provocation! Realized I could go monster-free, and I've never gone back.

I play hard mode. Spiders SUCK! But I need them to make a bow -.- I had a really nice level going, Ikiosho saw it, it was awesome. But, my computer crashed and I lost it all :(

In good news, Notch almost has multiplayer working well in the alpha :D

Minecraft would be a pile of fun if I ever built anything that wasn't a generic cobblestone castle or a bland squarewood house.

Cave exploration is really entertaining, though.

Cave exploration is terrifying. I feel like I'm going to die in a horrible cave in with no way out. Alone. In the dark.

Italics are real-world events. A dramatic retelling of today's events, as narrated from my character. Also note that I play on Normal.

December 20, 2010
Dear Journal,

Early one Minecraft morning, I arose from my cave home and suddenly realized, "WHOA! I need to work on the foundation of my castle!" and so I ascended to the site of the upcoming structure, which was carefully landscaped. It seemed best as one of the last steps prior to building the castle to dig a tunnel to connect my house and the site. So off I went. After thrashing the mountain and three stone pickaxes, the tunnel was finished, but quite dark. In fear that monsters may spawn there, I re-entered my base to grab some torches. I didn't take into account that it was still early morning, and Creepers still prowled the overworld. Little did I know, my house would suffer almost beyond recovery very soon.

It wasn't long after my arrival to the house-side opening of the tunnel that my neighbor, Andrew, whispered behind me, Look out, a Creeper is in the tunnel." But it was too late, the warning whisper of his voice merged with the anticipating hiss of the Creeper. A good portion of the roof of my house was in ruins and I was screaming and laughing, my reaction to pure horror. The explosion caused me to fall back into the house, so I gathered what bricks remained and climbed back to the roof to repair what was left of it and the entrance to the tunnel. As I finished repairing the tunnel and turned to the rest of the roof, another creeper danced toward me and blew up right in my face.

Tears lined my eyes as I laugh-cried with Andrew's brother Zach, behind me, who was equally as frightened. This whole scenario had been especially horrid, because I had recently made the comment that I've had eerily consistant good luck all day. The second explosion had destroyed more blocks than I held to replace. I once again departed for my sanctuary, to calm myself while I grab sufficient cobblestone. I returned and fixed the roof and as I turned to finally brighten my tunnel, my heart stopped for about three seconds as the third Creeper fell from the mountain and fixed on further making me regret bragging. But I had more time, and escaped toward the ocean where the beast was trapped in a current. "TAKE THAT, YOU BETCH!" I exclaimed as the defeated monster watched me strut back toward the mountain.

I made it to the tunnel, and placed torches along the stone walls to prevent further monster attacks, when I realized that the other end of the tunnel was wide open; maybe that was one of the places that the Green Death came from! I quickly blocked it off until further construction of the castle takes place. As soon as I left the tunnel to finish what work I would do for now, I screamed, "GODFUCKINGDAMNIT," as the fourth Creeper in a 3 minute span jumped at me and exploded. At this point, the game was paused while Zach and I were rolling on the ground laugh-crying at everything that had just happened. It was hysterically funny and terrifying at the same time. At this point I had lost my voice, it was time to save and quit, I couldn't take anymore.

Well, I finally am able to play this game. I must say I have been going nuts. Everything is really crude right now because creepers kept decimating my back yard/door. I've harvested a looot of dirt and plan on finding a patch of land to flatten out and start a huge mansion upon.

I'm playing the free classic mode at the moment, just because I don't wanna play with monsters and the dark and stuff. XD
Plus, I like to get stuff without looking for it. :P

Here are some screenshots:

Classic is free for anyone.

On MC's homepage there's a link to classic, it's right beneath the links for Beta.

You can, if you have a username. Just enter your username and password, jump onto classic, and then when you get there, you can hit esc and there's a "load file" and "save file" option. It just saves it on your computer.

You have to go to minecraft.net. There you can download the game onto your computer or play online. (You want to click on one of the Beta options) The login is in the corner. Most of all have fun. :D

I hope you like it. The texture pack I'm using is a variation of Painterly, which is probably one of the most customizable and user-friendly texture packs there are... I highly suggest it. I guess that's it. :D

So here's something I've been working on lately... I'm using the RedPower mod as part of the Technic Pack, and I -highly- recommend it. The Technic Pack is amazing, and RedPower basically overhauls the redstone system, with different types of wire and even covers so that you can hide your wiring. I took the different types of microblocks, as well as a couple of the new blocks, Basalt and Marble, and went from from there. Here's what I got:

Not really sure what I want to do with it, yet. I thought it'd be nice as a sort of Zelda-style temple, or maybe the center of an Oblivion-Imperial-City inspired town. What do you guys think?

Oh wow, there's a Minecraft thread here??? :o

I've been playing Minecraft since late last summer, with focus on my friend's multiplayer server maps, as opposed to playing single player. The game is too scary to play alone, unless its set to Peaceful, and generally too boring to play alone on Peaceful. (And even set to peaceful, the game still manages the scare the crap out of me sometimes.)

It still impresses me how beautiful this game is. The vast majority of the screenshots I've taken are of sunsets and/or cool natural mountain formations.

I still kind of miss our 1.7 world. Our last 1.8 world got so glitchy that we couldn't play it any longer, which is sad, cause we built a 50x50 monster spawner, and started working on a road. :/

Now in our 1.0.0 world, I've built a treehouse, and my friends build a netherrack pyramid, and then lit it on fire. Its pretty awesome, and I'll remember to get some screenshots the next time I play.

I'd never planned on playing with any mods or texture packs, but after discovering the Mine Little Pony mod, well...I just had to get it. XD

That's awesome Reflectionist. I really liked the checkered floor design you had on the inside.

I wish I wasn't so lazy, so I could take pictures of my nether castle to post on here. First I need to switch my file over to creative mode though. :\
