Which Links are we sure are in the same game?
OoA and OoS are definatel, as are he of OoT and MM... and LoZ and Aol.
FSA and TMC? LttP and LA are near definate ... but what do you think? TT and FSGBA? FSGBA and TMC? I think we need some map comparisons...

Hyrulean Adventure follows FS directly. LoZ and AoL are becoming less definite all the time, because their place in the timeline has just crumbled. I suspect they'll be reworked somehow eventually. Miyamoto even alluded to his team being keen to redo AoL, in particular.

Using solely the games, the following games are linked by a single Link:
LoZ/AoL
ALttP/LA
OoT/MM
OoS/OoA
TWW
FS/FSA
TMC
Which makes for a total of seven Links as of now.

Ooh, that would be interesting! Do you have a link to an interview or quote somewhere?

I may be wrong but I think it was the interview where he said AoL was kinda rough around the edges.

That works, but Oracles comes before LTTP because it has the Master Sword, probably has its own Link.
Also the "debated" Links: SCII Link is LTTP Link and Cartoon and CD-i Link is the LoZ/AoL

Uhm....Oracles CAN'T come before LTTP because of the Triforce....and the Master Sword was an easter egg, and it doesn't have plot revelance or the power to repel evil, so if it's to be taken seriously at all, it could be possible to think of it as just a really good sword that the people of the Oracle lands made. (Why does the Master Sword need to be repaired, and how the heck did it get to Labrynna/Holodrum? How did it get back if it indeed come before LTTP? :/)

Little things like "how'd it get from A to C", are irrelevant. One could easily say that "Link brought it over" or "country people migrated" or "it's magic" without crossing over into fanfiction.
It doesn't matter whether you consider the MS an easter egg or not, it's in the game, and thus not abiding by the "Forever" at the end of LTTP. Also, the Noble Sword is the Master Sword, because when King Zora "sharpens" it, it becomes its true form. The MS has been seen in the past, like the FS (FS or 4S?) to become powered down, like in TWW. The King, being Zoran Royalty, could be a sage or sage's relative (Ruto was a sage an zoran princess).
As for how it got back to Labrynna/Holodrum, remember how at the end of TWW it was at the bottom of the sea after you'd used up all its power petrifying Ganon. Well a ZORA, an underwater creature, had a broken noble (master) sword. The zora in question, is extremely old, suggesting he could have been alive as far back as TWW times.
If a master sword was so low on power, that it no longer had its mythical shininess, I could imagine it breaking. Weakened master sword under water at the end of TWW, stuck in some guy's head ... years pass, probably centuries ... there's some REALLY OLD zora with a broken sword that turns out to eventually become the Master Sword. It doesn't take a genius. The sword broke when someone tried to pull it out of Ganon's rocky corpse (probably a niced marbled stone by this time) and then it was taken home.
Why wasn't this made part of the neccessary storyline? People would have complained that you needed to get both games in order to "complete" one, that's why.
I've made my case. Oracles come before LTTP. Done.
