I've been thinking about this question for a while. I'd say the most annoying is Ezlo. Mostly because he keeps talking whenever you press select. It is even worse when I play the GBA ALTTP for a while and press select in TMC to select an item.
What about the rest of you?

Ultimately I had to vote for Zelda. Unlike other sidekicks, she actually impacted upon gameplay and I lost a lot of life directing her in the Final Boss Battle.

Am I the only one that wasn't annoyed by any of the sidekicks? Navi was nuisance sometimes but I actually liked her. I was sad to see her go at the end of OoT. The rest were pretty okay.

Though I much rather see a game where Link has no side kick or has limited involvement with a second playable character like Kafei from MM. Or maybe several sidekicks who aren't always around but have Link's back behind the scenes kinda like Rusl and the rest of Resistance Fighters in TP. Not that I mind sidekicks glued to Link's hip, or hat or whatever, but just to change things up a bit. The same old routine from OoT is getting kinda getting stale.

Also, why isn't King of Red Lions up there? I know he's not annoying but I've hardly heard any complaints about Tatl or Ceila.

Tatl was a b*tch. I dont appreciate a sidekick whose attitude is "what?! you don't know what that enemy is? well I'm not helping you if you don't even know what that enemy is."

...You know what tatl, just shut up and tell me the name and weak spot of the enemy like a good little sidekick.

Navi, by far. She wouldn't stop indicating the up-C arrow to me. <_<

She definitely gets second place on my list. Does anyone have any other choices I can add to the poll?

Link (in FSA). Man, those guys were really annoying; stealing my fire rod, getting to force gems before me, letting me fall to my death...

I liked Tatl. She was far more my kind of fairy than Navi...

Yeah, I voted Navi as most annoying. "hey! Listen!" just.... got old really quickly.

Navi.

That said, I don't think that Link works so well without SOME kind of sidekick. Midna, Tatl, King of Red Lions, just about ALL of the "sidekicks" have some kind of personality. Navi...Navi's just a way of reminding you what you need to do next. STFU ALREADY! Can't you see that this sidequest involving killing ghosty thingies on Hyrule field to get "something good" is vital in my long-term goal of saving Hyrule?!

Tatl had a tendency to get longwinded in cutscenes, but at least she had SOME personality. Midna....I don't know about anyone else, but I always got the creepy manipulated feeling from Midna...but that's clearly intentional, so I let her get away with it.

Yeah, King of Red Lions was probably the best. Navi the worst.

I don't like all this Navi hate. Sure she only has three lines of dialogue and they happen to be in an annoyingly high-pitched shrill of a voice, but that's not all Navi is. She's more than just "hey watch out!" She's genuinely trying to help you on your quest, and while that input may be annoying at times, it's useful when you save your game and don't play for a while, and pick it back up 3 months later and forget what you're supposed to be doing. She's just trying to help, sheesh! :P

Not that she's the best side-kick; no, far from it. Midna is the best side kick IMO, being the only well-developed one with a love-to-hate-her personality. As for the others? Well, KoRL didn't really have much of a personality, did he? He was no help either, so I'm pretty indifferent towards him. Elzo's kind of annoying in a Navi way, but again he's just trying to help. And he's funny at times, too.

Seriously though, Tatl is all the pestering of Navi, with a snarky attitude. Screw her. I'll take "Listen!!" over that any day.

I felt like Navi was so bland, though! She was all eager-servant-of-the-Deku-Tree and no personality! Tatl was snarky but the snark was entertaining to me and showed that she had her own style, y'know? I liked Ezlo too; he was more funny to me than annoying or Navi-like, and he had an interesting backstory.

I can't really judge most of the other sidekicks as I haven't played any of the console games after MM (I've played most of the handhelds, but that's it for the new games).

In my opinion, Midna’s probably one of the more helpful sidekicks. She’s kind of arrogant up to the Lakebed Temple (3rd dungeon), but other than that she helps out a lot with warping and useful tips (sometimes) as well.

A lot of people probably hate Navi the most ‘cause OoT is the most played. that would be my theory on one of the reasons.

I think people are a little too harsh on Navi. She's the first sidekick Nintendo created so of course there's a lot bugs to work out. The point is, they learned and tried to improve things with each sidekick. Midna's probably one of the best sidekicks since she's got personality plus she's helpful albeit kinda creepy (which imo is part of her charm). Ceila is generally an okay sidekick and I always imagined her as an improved Navi without the annoying kinks.

I don't understand all this hate against Navi. Whatever did she do that other games haven't done since? Granted, there's no Navi in the more recent games, but the game's still holding your hand and pointing things out to you. There's just no Navi to do it.

Zelda is the only sidekick that should warrant ire, because she ultimately affects your gameplay and she can ultimately cause you to lose some life or all your life through her actions.

I never found Zelda annoying. Granted my DS got stolen with the game in it before I could finish the game but I'm about past the Fire Temple at least. When are the annoying parts with Zelda I hear so much about?

They appear later in the more advanced levels of the Tower of Spirits.
