Well, there is a lack of activity in here. So why not just make a "conversation" thread. I don't know the legality of it (XD As in, mods/admins can lock it if they want); but I thought it'd be nice.

It was mostly inspired by the hectic stay at LAnon, where conversations just went in some direction. Consider it a "Paragraph association game" rather than just word.

...

...

Basically, just talk. XD

Spoiler

I have no topic to start with, though. I guess you can talk about what a crappy idea this thread is for starters. It can go in some direction from there. XD

EDIT/NOTE: This thread will be bumped if inactive for more than a day. XD Meaning it could just be a long string of Kitsune-posts, hence the name. >w< This will at least keep activity going somehow. XD

Here is something to start off with. Samuel Barber once said "How awful that the artist has become nothing but the after-dinner mint of society." At first, I didn't really believe what it was trying to say. However, I went to use the bathroom one day for obvious reasons only to find that my mother had hung a print of a Monet painting above the toilet. Regretfully, I think Barber is right.

You know, there are so many examples of situations like that, but none actually come to mind, funnily enough. XD That sounds more like you'd unlock some sort of Achievement by hanging it there. "Achievement Unlocked: Samuel Barber" XD Description: "Artists have become the after-dinner mint of society"

What kind of game would I have to play to get that achievement? :P

The game of a day in the life of JRP, of course. XD

I really like the games with the sneaky/thoughtful achievements/trophies. Do you have any favorites that come to mind? XD

My favorite achievement from any game would be 'Bad Nanny' from Dante's Inferno, where you have to kill a certain amount of unbaptized babies. Horrible, yes. But you should see what those little runts LOOK like first.

XD I know exactly what they look like. >w<

I like the ones that are usually a reference to something, like Call of Duty's "Saved Private Ryan" or "Don't get Cocky" in Dead Space. I think my favorite overall ones are in LEGO Starwars, though. XD

I noticed Japanese games generally have completion ones only, they were never a fan of the system, and when PS3 implemented trophies, you can tell some were not happy. XD

Achievements are a double edge sword, they add more to the gameplay but they make more chores during gameplay. Kinda a bother, but I feel compelled to get them.

Meh, I only bother to complete them if they're plausible, and fun.

Those ridiculous ones (like 100000 EXP or something) or kill double the world's population and stuff, I don't bother. XD 100% completion is always nice, but I hide achievements anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me. XD

But it does give something to do I guess, that goes with the double-edged sword.

I dislike complex multiplayer ones, especially. XD

Ugh, I know what you mean. In games like Team Fortress where the means to achieve them are far too specific that you can't possibly do them naturally.

Yeah, I think in that game's case, they were trying to make them interesting but instead made them extremely complex at the same time. XD

Or the "Go out and Get some Sun" Achievement in Call of Duty. Now that's one with an awesomely fitting title, but no way am I going to bother. XD

Now; something that really makes a game a chore is FAQ writing. x_x

Speaking of, do you ever use them?

FAQs? Depends on the game. If I'm playing a game with a lot of puzzles or a lot of things to pick up along the way, like Zelda or Final Fantasy, then you'd better believe I'd game a guide for that.

XD Which are the two I've been FAQ writing for.

Well, FF is under construction. Most good in-depth FAQ possibilities were taken, so for FF13, I'm just writing a Crystarium FAQ. XD Which is completely useless...

My first full length non-spoiler Pokemon FAQ turned HeartGold into a chore, though. XD

I personally do think I have the patience to write an FAQ for any game, unless it consisted of 3 levels or less. Like Donkey Kong for the NES, but I'm a little uncertain if I could do that much.

You should try! I'm sure you'll be good!

I like working with in-depths more. So a Full-length is kinda mind blowing. XD

That means from this forum is very likely, too. XD

Homework kept me up, had to take care of a couple things since today has been anything but productive. However, I will say it has been fun.

Have to finish a book, study for a test, try a new tutorial for photoshop, etc.

I've just been keeping myself entertained with mindless WTF drawings that I will eventually post in my WTF thread in showcase. If anyone ever posts there, that is. XD

Any post? Okay, then I hereby decree that any mention of the April Fool's Day prank of 2010 in Koridai will lead to MASSIVE beatings and an edit of that post.

I'm not joking.

I call it evening, the word night seems weird to say unless it's a goodbye statement.

With that note, I wish you all a good night (depending on where you are in the world).
